The Infuriating Reason WHY Narcissists Are SO Pompous and Expect You to Cater to Them

The Infuriating Reason WHY Narcissists Are SO Pompous and Expect You to Cater to Them - People with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) believe that they're superior to others, but deep down, they know that's not true. They have low self-esteem and a strong fear of failure. They crave admiration and attention, but not just any kind of attention—they want to be seen as unique and special. They feel like no one truly understands them or appreciates them for who they are. And when people don't do what the narcissist wants, it makes them angry—because it threatens their sense of superiority, and reinforces their belief that you don't understand or appreciate them.
So the next time someone is behaving pompously or demanding special treatment from you, try to remember that narcissism isn't about having unrealistic expectations of others—it's about being too hard on yourself. A little compassion can go a long way!
