Trump's tariffs are starting to have their first real effects on our economy and it's not good. Prices on everything from beer to automobiles is going up as steel and other products hit by Trumps trade war start to hit the shelves.

The important point I want to make is not about the damage tariffs do but who actually pays for them. Did you know there are some people in America who think companies pay taxes? We are constantly hearing how corporations should "pay their fair share" meaning pay more in taxes. But the reality is, COMPANIES DON'T PAY TAXES!

The BOJ just signaled it's going to buy an unlimited number of bonds at .01% proving yet again it's willingness to destroy the Yen. It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for them. :)

Finally, Bernie Sanders just had his Medicaid for all plan scored by an independent research group. Turns out it's going to cost an estimated 32.6 Trillion dollars over the next 10 years. Yes, that's Trillion with a T.

That number is right in line with the estimate I gave you last week. Socialism, democratic or otherwise is a fools errand.

According to the socialist, these programs are not just good for our country they are a moral imperative. We are terrible people for not providing these things to our fellow man.

You're probably thinking the guy had drugs or that he had aquired the money through some nefarious means. But none of that was true. No, he was simply a guy who buys a sells trucks and he was leaving Chicago heading back to California after his latest deal.

TSA ID'd the money in his carry-on bag and he was whisked away to a beautiful windowless room the bowels of the airport where he was accused of having drugs in his bag and his money was ultimately stolen.

It's yet another story of our law enforcement abusing its power to line its pockets.

Twitter has been 'shadow banning' many Republican and conservative voices and it's got a lot of politicians panties in a twist.

But I don't think that's nearly as important as the President banning a CNN reporter from an open press event.

You see, Twitter can't hurt you. There are a million ways to get your voice out these days and if Twitter wants to silence you it's simply a matter of switching platforms but when the government starts banning reporters we have a problem.

The government is, by its very nature, force and if we don't have a free press to check that power the people are no longer in charge.

Yet another disappointing media orgasm. Yesterday the Trump tapes were released and this morning I watched CNN interview Lenny Davis, Cohen's lawyer about it.

I'll play you the tape, the attorney's reaction, and my thoughts but let me just say this...

Media in this country has become a joke. Even when the truth is clear for all to see the media will spin it. Here are the facts.

1. Trump set up a company to buy a story from a porn star so he could keep their sexual encounter a secret.

2. At least one of the discussions about that transaction was recorded by Trump's Attorney.

3. None of it was illegal.

So all of this press is designed to do nothing but fan the flames of anger and destroy Trump's image. (And let's be serious, does the man really have any image left to destroy?)

But there is a bigger point about our society I want to make on today's show so please tune in and listen now. :-)

A recent shooting in Florida has called into question the Stand Your Ground law that allows those in immediate threat of death or great bodily harm to use deadly force in self-defense.
