I plan my week ahead of time, choose what matters most, and then… I show up and live it.

And that simple rhythm? It has changed everything.

What if confidence isn’t about you at all?

The world tells us confidence is self-exaltation. The Bible tells a different story.

You were created to live a life that is significant, fruitful, courageous, and confident— not to make yourself look great… but to make Christ look great.

Here’s the shift:

Confidence rooted in self = pressure, comparison, pride

Confidence rooted in Christ = freedom, purpose, peace

The secret to confidence is remembering who it’s tethered to—and who it’s for.

When your confidence is anchored in Christ: • You can show up boldly without needing recognition • You can use your gifts fully without shrinking or striving • You can make decisions, take action, even get dressed… on purpose

Because it’s no longer about proving yourself. It’s about reflecting Him.

“From Him and through Him and to Him are all things…” (Romans 11:36)

Friend, you can live a confident, joyful, impactful life— not because of who you are alone, but because of Who you belong to.

That’s where real confidence begins.

There’s a very specific woman I’m picturing as I record this episode.

One of the questions I get asked most often sounds simple on the surface:

“What do you actually journal about?”

Not prompts. Not techniques. Not what you recommend to clients.

But you.

What do you write about — as a coach, a mom, and a woman in midlife?

And I love this question, because underneath it is usually something else:

“Is my life too ordinary… too messy… too full… for journaling to matter?”

So today, I want to gently pull back the curtain and show you what journaling actually looks like in my real life.

Not every day. Not perfectly. But honestly.

What decision feels unfinished in my mind — and what happens if I let it unfold on paper?

I want to start today by saying something out loud that I think a lot of women secretly wonder about.

“Is journaling supposed to feel this hard?”

Because no one tells you this at the beginning.

They show you beautiful notebooks. They talk about clarity and peace. They make it sound grounding and calming and soothing.

And then you sit down to journal… and you feel resistant. Or emotional. Or awkward. Or nothing at all.

And you think, Maybe I’m doing this wrong.

What feels hard about journaling right now?

No fixing. Just naming.

Prompt 2: Resistance as Information

If my resistance could talk, what might it be trying to protect me from?

Prompt 3: Emotional Check-In

What emotions feel closest to the surface today?

You don’t need to analyze them.

Prompt 4: Safety First

What would make journaling feel even 5% safer right now?

Shorter. Slower. Softer.

Prompt 5: Permission to Be Awkward

If journaling didn’t have to be graceful, what might I write?
