“It’s important to encourage those that are new to this to ignore the naysayers and to pursue their own personal health.”
– Jimmy Moore
Perhaps you got online after you got great results eating keto and now you want to try to help people find out more information about how to get healthy themselves eating a low-carb, high-fat, ketogenic diet. But then you start hearing people say things about you that you know simply aren’t true. How do you react? Attack? Ignore? Cry in a corner? This is something health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore has personally dealt with for the fifteen years he’s been online and he’s come to one clear conclusion–what people think about you simply doesn’t matter and you have nothing to prove by trying to defend against what other people say about you. Listen to hear Jimmy share more about a fantastic Instagram post from @ashleylemieux (http://www.instagram.com/ashleylemieux) all on this topic in this episode.
“If you can explain these difficult concepts to kids, maybe you can get through to doctors as well.”
– Tom Naughton
Tom Naughton from FatHead-Movie.com is an important voice in the low-carb, high-fat, ketoginic community. Ever since Tom’s fantastic, low-carb cult film Fat Head debuted several years ago, his message has motivated people from all over the world to try this healthy way of eating. As Tom talks about today, the film really resonated with a particular group of people that found the content, although very serious, funny and entertaining. With that encouragement, and the lessons Tom and his wife Chareva learned with their own two daughters, they created the new book Fat Head Kids: Stuff About Diet and Health I Wish I Knew When I Was Your Age.
Listen in today as Jimmy and Tom chat about the new book, and the upcoming companion film aimed at kids. Tom explains how he learned from public speaking that communicating hard to understand concepts in fun ways is essential to engaging your audience. Tom and Jimmy talk about Tom’s family’s life on a working farm and Jimmy shares his experiences in transforming his home into a homestead.
If you haven’t noticed what’s been happening lately in the world of nutritional health, let me quickly bring you up to speed. There is a very deliberate move that is underway trying to push people into embracing more of a plant-based diet like vegetarian or vegan. This is happening on so many fronts (and we’re covering them all on JIMMY RANTS), but the latest one is in a new study claiming that the best possible health markers you can obtain are from eating vegan. Read about it below.
Vegans have a ‘healthier biomarker profile’: https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/324869.php
While they look at some of the micronutrient makeup in the bodies of the people they tested (although there was no ketogenic or carnivore group amongst the five categories tested), this research is incomplete according to health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore. He asks why they didn’t take into consideration many other biomarkers that indicate optimal health like fasting insulin, blood sugar, inflammation markers like hsCRP, triglycerides, and so much more.
“Don’t take what I tell you at face value, do you own research!”
– Jimmy Moore
Listen to hear him talk about the desperate need for everyone in the diet and health community to coalesce behind those commonly agreed upon markers that determine just how healthy you are in this episode.

“Vegetable oils are anything but good for you! These raise inflammation more than anything except carbohydrates.”
– Jimmy Moore
We all know people who make some pretty bad choices in their diet that will eventually catch up to them in their health. From sugary soda, fast food, and refined carbohydrates like sugar and grains, what you eat matters. Now, though, a new study claims what you are NOT eating probably matters even more. Read more in the CNN story below.
What we aren’t eating is killing us, global study finds: https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/03/health/diet-global-deaths-study/index.html
Their idea of what’s considered “healthy,” though, is far from it according to health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore. He says the study’s conclusion that eating too much salt, not enough whole grains, and not enough fruit were the leading reasons for disease and death is just silly without any solid evidence to support it. Listen to hear Jimmy share more about the major flaws in this new study that was funded by vegan billionaire Bill Gates in this episode.
When pediatric endocrinologist Dr. Robert Lustig gave his now-infamous “Sugar: The Bitter Truth” lecture in July 2009 to a small group of mostly medical school students and laypeople at the University of California-San Francisco, little did he know that millions of people would be touched and inspired around the world by that talk through the power of the Internet. One of those people was a writer named Eve Schaub who watched Dr. Lustig’s video and immediately laid down a daunting challenge to her husband and two young daughters–let’s give up added sugar in our diet for a period of one year to see what would happen. Eve shares all about the incredible results of that experiment in a new book entitled Year of No Sugar: A Memoir.
Listen in to hear Jimmy and Eve talk about:
how Dr. Lustig’s talk “lit my brain on fire”
about the problems with sugar,
how she found Dr. Lustig’s video on a friend’s Facebook wall,
all the strange places in our life that sugar shows up as an ingredient,
we vilified the wrong thing (dietary fat) and replaced it with the real problem in health (sugar),
the anti-sugar message is starting to penetrate into the culture more,
how David Gillespie and Dr. Lustig were invaluable resources to her during her year of no sugar in 2011,
why she thinks Dr. Lustig’s 90-minute medical lecture has nearly 5 million views,
how they went cold turkey giving up added sugar beginning on January 1, 2011,
the logistics of finding foods to eat was the hardest part,
how food manufacturers try to hide sugar by breaking it up into various ingredients,
why the new “added sugars” on the nutrition label is a mixed bag, using the word “sugar” can get confusing very fast to people,
for the purposes of their experiment they removed the added fructose in the food they consumed,
they wanted to see how hard it would be and whether it could be possible to do this painlessly,
because they still ate carbohydrates the effects of removing sugar were less dramatic,
the once-a-month sugary food they allowed themselves,
how they lost their desire for these sugary desserts within nine months,
how her 6-year old and 11-year old daughters handled giving up added sugar for a year (they burst out into tears when they were told about it),
how people are trying so hard to do the right things for their health,
whether they continued to eat no sugar added foods once 2011 was over,
the key to getting away from sugar is to start cooking more,
the mistakes they made when they first started doing this,
whether they added any artificial or even natural sweeteners to get sweetness,
the tiny sesame seed cookies she tried to recreate at home that she had to throw out,
how they were all pretty healthy when they began this,
what should get people to start taking sugar more seriously,
how Halloween went for the girls in 2011,
why her girls are very happy eating less sugar because it “became normal,”
the “nutritional advice disease” that people get frustrated with that leads them to do nothing,
and more! ENJOY!
Will the 2020 U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans actually include ALL of the scientific evidence in nutritional health? People seem to think these updates to the diet advice every five years in the United States from the USDA/HHS are based on the most sound, up-to-date information about what you should be eating to be healthy. But the sad reality is that’s simply not true and never has been since they forced this on the American people starting in 1980. But there is hope they’ll actually look at the mounting evidence they’ve long been ignoring in support of a low-carb, high-fat, ketogenic diet. Read the story about this below.
US Experts Reviewing Low-Carb, Other Diets for Guidelines: https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/national-international/us-experts-reviewing-diets-carb-guidelines/130257/
While it’s optimistic to think they might consider the keto science in their updated guidelines in 2020, but health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore isn’t holding his breath. Jimmy testified before the USDA’s 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee challenging them to make a wide variety of options available for the public to choose from. They didn’t listen then and they’re certainly showing no sign of listening now. Listen to hear why this issue is so important even if you do ignore the dietary advice given by the government in this episode.
“Why don’t we have an independent panel of experts that are adept at all types of eating, and let them come together to determine that real food is best?”

“If you are still using RoundUp, get rid of it and let’s stop buying it. It’s just not worth it for your health.”
- Jimmy Moore
Springtime will be here before you know it and that means warmer temperatures, growing a garden, and dealing with the weeds in your yard. For most people, they don’t even think twice about buying a weed-killing product like RoundUp because it is so prevalent in our culture. But did you know there have been not just one but TWO jury verdicts in lawsuits filed against the company that makes this product, Monsanto, in just the past year with thousands more in the pipeline? Read this story detailing the known cancer-causing impact of using RoundUp that Monsanto chose to cover up below.
Who is paying for Monsanto’s crimes? We are: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/mar/30/who-is-paying-for-monsantos-crimes-we-are
What’s even worse to health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore is the fact that the toxic impact of glyphosate in RoundUp has probably already had an impact on the foods you eat because it has been used so ubiquitously by farmers to control weeds and pests that it has seeped into the food supply. Watch this important update from Jimmy and spread the word to friends, family, and anyone in your life you love about the dangers of using RoundUp in this video.
It’s the Christmas holiday season and I don’t have to tell you that this time of the year is the most tempting for anyone who is on a low-carb diet. Look around you at the office parties, gatherings at your church, social events with your friends and family…what do you see? CARBS, CARBS, and more CARBS!!! AAAAAAACK! You can’t avoid seeing all these foods and smelling them, so what does a low-carber do? Should you just give up on your diet over the holidays or is this lifestyle change too important to simply throw in the towel in December? We’re gonna talk about this with a low-carb health and food expert today.
Today we hear from Michele Thompson, a freelance columnist and the Food & Health Editor with the SheKnows LowCarb online magazine as she provides tips for surviving the Christmas holidays without compromising your low-carb principles. Although she describes herself as “not a hardcore low-carber,” Michele does offer some invaluable information for what to do about those Christmas parties, what you can eat at these festive holiday meet-ups, and why it is important to stick as closely to your low-carb way of life as possible even during this carb-filled season.
Although her continued emphasis on eating “high-protein” may not fall in line with what many of us are eating (most low-carb diet are high in fat, not protein), what did you think about Michele Thompson’s advice for getting through the Christmas season? Visit the SheKnows LowCarb online magazine and check out Michele’s fabulous Christmas recipes to find inspiration in the kitchen for the holidays. And be sure to watch this YouTube video and read this blog post I wrote in 2005 on this important subject. Even my friend Kent Altena shared some excellent Christmas season surviving tips in his own YouTube video a couple of years ago.

Weight loss has long been what so many people consider the holy grail in the pursuit of getting healthy. This obsession over weight has become so pervasive that if someone goes on a ketogenic diet, for example, and doesn’t see the number on the scale go down that they think they’ve failed. This is so sad to health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore who had someone write him an email about how to stay motivated eating keto if he doesn’t get that daily validation from the scale. Listen to hear Jimmy’s encouragement to this person who emailed him and others to start looking at much better measures for success eating low-carb, high-fat in this episode.

Jimmy Moore Paid advertisementOne of the biggest debates in the ketogenic community surrounds the subject of whether the preponderance of your diet should consist of dietary protein or dietary fat. People have such a difficult time knowing exactly how much protein is the right amount for them. That’s what a recent review of the medical literature was about to help people determine what that level is. Read the story about it below.
Here’s How Much Protein You Need To Eat On A Regular Basis: https://www.medicaldaily.com/heres-how-much-protein-you-need-eat-regular-basis-432282
It’s all about what your goal is with keto says health podcaster and international bestselling author of KETO CLARITY Jimmy Moore who notes there will be higher demands for protein in those who are seeking to build muscle like bodybuilders and less demand for as much protein for people with insulin resistance who already have trouble with the glucose effects coming from food (and protein is one of those foods when consumed in excess can raise blood sugar and insulin levels as this article notes). Listen to hear Jimmy explain how you can customize your low-carb plan to get the right amount of protein for you in this episode.
