Nestled in the hills of Bardstown, Kentucky, the Willett Distillery is picturesque and many of the whiskies are highly sought after — especially those purple tops. Historically, Willett’s reputation has been built upon the fact that they have some amazing aged stock that they acquired from various distilleries. However, Willett has been producing their own bourbon and rye since 2012. This week, we take a look at the Willett Family Estate Bottled Four Year Rye. Even though these “green” top bottles are slightly less sought after, they are definitely more available. For this week, we discuss RTDs, bourbon drinking in the summer, The Bar at Willett, and bourbon jealously. Will the four year Willett rye impress or be relegated to “pot still status?” You’ll have to listen to find out…

The Barton 1792 Distillery is the source of many great bourbons on the market today. Back in 2016, 1792 Full Proof made its debut and quickly became a favorite of bourbon enthusiasts. This week, we discuss and taste how this 125 proof monster stacks up against the rest of the 1792 lineup and other barrel proof bourbons. Other stimulating topics include four star transportation to a kids birthday party, an abusive superhero, and liquor store chugs. We had a lot of fun recording this episode and hope you enjoy listening!

With the Rocky Mountains as it’s back drop, the city of Colorado Springs is beautiful. This beauty seems like a good reason to create a whiskey. This week we open a bottle of Distillery 291 Barrel Proof Single Barrel Whiskey. What can a mile high city bring differently to the bourbon whiskey scene? How does their unique distilling process change their product? Help to raise and rope broncos are the Colorado hug, the Coors Light dog and Michael goes to the grocery.

With the introduction of the new Benchmark vertical series, it has quickly becoming a sought after item for those who like to collect. However, what if you did not want to purchase them all. This week we open a bottle of Benchmark Full Proof Bourbon. Is this young 125 proof bourbon too hot to drink neat? Does it’s taste profile make it a desirable “daily drinker”? The fellas also talk about country music love relationships, security software bourbon and Michael has another nosing note.
