Guns, mustaches, and MGP! What the hell are we talking about? Well, it’s Smoke Wagon, of course! Over the past 5-6 years, Nevada H&C Distilling Co. has made a massive impact in the whiskey industry with different versions of Smoke Wagon Bourbon. For this week, the fellas taste a batch of Smoke Wagon Uncut and Unfiltered Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Will this MGP sourced bourbon be something you should be on the lookout for or be something you shouldn’t waste your time on. Some unsuspecting tasting notes come up during a conversation about breaking bottles (and furniture) on accident.

Jack Daniels was the drink of choice for the “Chairman of the Boards,” Mr. Frank Sinatra. For the first time in MANY years, Jack Daniels announced two new permanent brand extensions in Triple Mash and Jack Daniels Bonded. In this episode, we discuss upcoming TV shows that we are excited to watch while sipping on some Jack Daniels “Bonded” Tennessee Whiskey. Will this new addition to the #1 selling whiskey in the world be as delightful and smooth as Steven’s (and Ol’ Blue Eyes) voice — or be as rough and unsettled as a Tennessee storm. You’ll have to give us a listen to find out!

Prohibition Craft Spirits (PCS) is located in Louisville’s lively East Market District which is also know as NuLu (New Louisville). While PCS offers many different spirits like rum, gin, vodka, tequila, and rye, their NULU Bourbon is quickly becoming their most recognizable product. If you live in Kentucky, chances are that you’ve seen NULU single barrel store picks at your favorite liquor store. In this episode, the guys power through their springtime Kentucky allergies to nose and taste this MGP sourced bourbon, which leads to reminiscing/thoughts about how it stacks up against some of its MGP counterparts. Listen to this week as Anthony gets his breathing under control and the fellas decide if these picks are something that you should consider adding to your shelf.

Have you read any good books lately? How about drinking? Have you drank any good books lately? For this episode, we taste and review Little Book Chapter 03: The Road Home. Little Book was created by Freddie Noe and has quickly become a favorite of the fall bourbon release season. In this episode, the guys start to feel Father Time creeping in as they talk about songs that were popular back in the 90s. The spirited discussion includes mentions of the beam family legacy, the underrated skill of bourbon blending, and Fred Noe getting a new lease on life thanks to a longtime plant manager and a doctor who happens to be a bourbon fan.

Who stole the bourbon from the rickhouse? Was it Michael, Anthony, or Steven? The answer is “none of the above.” It was Old Fitz! This week, we sip and discuss Heaven Hill’s Larceny Barrel Proof offering and ponder whether it stacks up against its own historical lineage and other wheated bourbons. Come on a journey with us as we discuss how to handle your alcohol intake at weddings, the golden rules of drinking, and the deletion of a legendary local bourbon group. The trip down memory lane has the fellas wondering how they ever drank anything besides bourbon.

Sometimes you wanna go back, way back, back into time. In 2017, Brown-Foreman dipped into the past and resurrected the old style Kentucky bourbon brand, Early Times Bottled-in-Bond. This bottle quickly became a favorite value bourbon of the masses. But, is it worthy of that distinction? Recently, the brand was sold to the Sazerac Company and its left us wondering if it will continue to be a favorite value bourbon for years to come or if it will become allocated? Join us this week as we talk about family pictures in a cemetery, a local hyped bourbon release, and what it would be like to drink bourbon with Abraham Lincoln. Also, we discuss “not so impressive” master distiller tasting notes and question our very own existence.
