Hey everyone!

My name is Karyn Inder and welcome to The Model Tongue Podcast. A podcast where we discuss all things mental health, mental illness, body positivity, self worth and the importance of finding your voice.

Today, I wanted to talk about pet loss and grieving. Since losing my kitty Gerome last month, I have immersed myself in pet loss support groups and have spent the past couple weeks reading and listening to everyone’s stories and experiences. It made me realize that grieving a pet is something we often do in silence, for fear it won’t be understood or accepted. In this episode, Katie helps me shed light on the excruciating pain that is losing a bonded pet, what to do if you are deeply impacted as well as resources that you can contact if you need help.

Today I wanted to shed some light on super random things that could be negatively impacting your mental health. From breathing to eye tracking, I’m sure there will be things in here that you’ve never considered before!

& Why is this conversation important? Well, I think it’s important for us to know the origin of a lot of what we are feeling, because sometimes, depending on where it’s originating from, we have better success by handling it differently. Are you irritated because of stress or because of constipation? Do you feel ‘mleh’ because of anxiety, or because of PCOS? These are very important questions to ask yourself when deliberating on a treatment plan. Another great question is, are you making enough considerations on aspects of your life that will enable you to live a life of high quality? What haven’t you considered? Yes, anxiety means we are a living breathing person. Without anxiety, humankind definitely wouldn’t have survived / evolved. However, at what point does it become too much? What are some of the limitations that are experienced by people with anxiety disorders? What is ‘quality of life’? I answer these questions and provide some more insight on the core root of the problem, in hopes that it validates those who experience it and educate those who don’t.
