  • Setting Standards For Yourself

    Episode #127

The standards we set for ourselves guide us and allow us to achieve the results that we want and carry us to where we want to go.

To know your standards, you must know first who you are because your standard is part of your identity. If you know who you are and what you want to achieve, it will be easier for you to sustain your results and prove to yourself that you can hold yourself to these standards.

Be specific about the actions you are currently taking. You should know what your current standards are and if it is necessary, make new standards that are aligned with your behavior and identity.

A standard should be set based on how we know ourselves not based on what society dictates. Set a standard for your personal growth and development, get optics and support in order to help yourself achieve the result that you want.

In this episode you will learn :

    • How to set your standards
    • The importance of knowing that your true identity lies in setting your standards
    • The importance of being clear on what result you want to achieve

  • How To Save Your Marriage Without Talking About It

    Episode #126

Our society teaches us that in order to solve the problems in our marriage we should go through counseling or therapy and talk things out...but some people don't want to talk about it because it just brings more weight to the problem.

We have good news...there is another way to turn things around.

The first step in saving your marriage without talking about it is becoming raw and honest with yourself. Acknowledge that there is a problem in your marriage and stop pretending that everything is working fine.

Second, focus on improving YOURSELF instead of criticizing your partner. Discover yourself as a man and know your standards.

We all grew up differently. Our expectations are different from each other because of our upbringing or how we are programmed while growing up.

Instead of pointing out the flaws of your partner, focus on cleaning your side of the street first. Stop comparing your decision making to hers, your problems to hers, your day with hers because it will just create disconnection within the relationship.

Focus on your individual selves first, accept each other's craziness in order for you to work on your relationship as a couple.

Lastly, leave the fighting mentality at work, decompress and transition into a family man. Think about how you will step up to not only save the marriage but to take the relationship to the next level.

In this episode you will learn:

    • How to save a marriage without talking about it
    • The importance of cleaning your side of the street first and what that looks like.
    • The importance of resetting and reprogramming and HOW to do that.

  • Revisit: My Business or My Marriage

    Episode #124

In this episode Tim & Doug one of the most common issues they encounter in The Activation Method. Men who feel they need to choose between their marriage or their business.

In another open and honest discussion, Tim & Doug share their thoughts on what they describe as one of the most common issues faced by men across the business world today. However, it’s not something anyone needs to go through, what happens if you replace the word ‘or’ with the word ‘and’ in this scenario, how does that life look to you?

This is something that is very possible but it requires a mindset shift and you being open and honest with yourself about who you are, how you feel and where you want to be in life.

Tim shares a story of a man he spoke to who was facing this exact issue. He felt the need, as a man to make his wife feel safe and secure and his way of doing this was earning money. This is a common alpha male natural instinct. However, things change when his wife dropped the bombshell that she felt more secure when he was unemployed and they were financially insecure. What his wife wanted and what he thought she wanted were two completely different things.

Are you building your dream and your dream alone or are you including your wife and/or family?

Doug shares a practice he carries out with his family when planning for his business which raises the importance of including your partner in business decisions you make, not necessarily day to day decisions but outlooks and how it will affect your personal life. Is there really any point in working every hour you can in order to make extra money if it means you don’t have the time to enjoy with your family

There is a balance to be had… you need to start working smarter not harder and you can start to do it right now!

Finally, Tim & Doug address the thought that some people are hiding from their marriage through their work. If you are asking yourself to choose between your marriage and your business, there is likely to be a deeper reason why you are not putting your marriage first because you are not being fulfilled, this is something you can address and fix to live a more successful and fulfilling life.

Things you will discover in this episode:

    • How to balance business alongside your personal life.
    • How to work smarter not harder.

  • Revisit: Don't Go To War

    Episode #123

    Enjoy the Journey!

How often do you hear that phrase, life is a journey and it needs to be enjoyed? However, being involved in a battle or war isn’t an enjoyable experience.

In this episode, Tim & Doug present another deep discussion about what it truly means to become a powerful man and they put the case forward for ditching the idea of a physical, tough, war-like alpha male in favor of a calm, quietly confident, self-assured man as being the one we should aspire to.

As men, we are so often wired to feel like we should go to war. We should treat everything like a battle that we need to win. This mentality comes from our ancestors having to fight and battle to stay alive and even most recently in the world wars when men were recruited to go to war for their country. Still, to this day, there is a belief among many that being a man means going to war and winning a battle. Even as a metaphor, this can be a dangerous way to view life. What are we really telling ourselves if this is the language we use and the outlook we have?

Tim & Doug look at what it actually means to go to war. Pain, suffering, hurt, anger - these are the emotions associated with war and these will be the emotions you will encounter if you approach life like a battle or a war.

The most successful men are more often not the ones beating their chests the hardest. We have all seen people who shout the loudest about their success but these are also the people who get into more disagreements, the ones who fail to take responsibility, the ones who pass the buck. This is because they are in battle mode and they are most likely, extremely insecure. Tim and Doug both relate to moving from this mindset to a more calm, relaxed and confident mindset and what it did for their lives.

If you take yourself out of battle mode, it’s the first step to being calm, confident and in a state of flow.  You don’t need anyone else’s approval to live the life you want and you can live a much more fulfilling and successful life by changing your mentality to be more positive. You don’t need to go to war.

Things you will discover in this episode:

    • How the language we use has a direct effect on our subconscious and how we operate
    • How being calm can improve your behavior and outcomes
    • How the idea of battles and wars impacts our belief systems
    • Why it’s time to ditch the cliche physical, tough, alpha male in favor of the calm self-assured man
    • Why calm is an incredibly strong inner strength
    • Why the loudest isn’t always the best
    • An immediate, actionable step to being a more relaxed, confident man

  • Giving Up the Crutch - A Life Without Coffee or Alcohol

    Episode #122

Are you a certified coffee addict or an alcohol lover?

In this episode, Doug shares his personal experience and journey with coffee & alcohol and why you might want to consider limiting your consumption.

Reducing the intake of caffeine and alcohol or totally getting rid of both could make a great impact on your life especially in terms of large decision making and how you perform in your business.

Being dependent on coffee & alcohol tends to make people more unstable and anxious all the time. It also reduces your alpha brain waves that you need most when it comes to decision making , especially for high-performing men.

One way to increase your alpha brain waves is by reducing your caffeine and alcohol intake. It will make you less anxious, more present, more centered and you will achieve your flow state as a powerful man.

It is difficult for most people to give up these two but in order to do it, you can try using coffee and alcohol alternatives just to get the stimuli that you need and as a result, you will become more focused and in your flow state more often.

What you will learn in this episode:

    • The negative effects of being dependent on alcohol and caffeine
    • The importance of being in your flow state
    • How to become more centered and focused
    • How to slowly get rid of or reduce the consumption of alcohol and caffeine
    • The alternatives
