  • Regrets of a Father

    Episode 32

In this episode, Doug and Tim discuss the regrets of a father and the importance of giving your time and presence to your family.

Fathers are builders because they build something for their family and for their future. They are often away from their family to hustle and make money so that someday they can do all things with their loved ones. But...what happens is they wake up one day realizing how much time has passed.

We talk about the importance of providing emotionally. Giving your partner, your kids, your family & friends your quality time. Being physically and emotionally present for them is beyond any amount of money because it is the memory and the legacy that you leave to them.

This is a wake-up call to start making a change. Recognize your priorities as a father and set your life up in accordance with your priorities.

Spend quality time with your kids, play with them while you still can, appreciate and educate them because these are the values that will be instilled to them as they grow old...not the money as their priority.

In this episode you will learn:

    1. The importance of quality time and presence
    2. Importance of proving emotionally for the family
    3. Knowing your priorities as a father
    4. Matching your calendar with your priorities

  • Making Sure Your Business Serves Your Life Instead of Your Life Serving Your Business

    Episode 29

In this episode, Doug and Tim discuss some ways on how to make sure your business serves your life instead of your life serving your business.   First, we need to know the main WHY for the business and if it still serves its purpose. As leaders and business owners, we sometimes lose ourselves in the hustle and forget why we do it in the first place.   Second, we need to pay attention to our own stress levels. We should not be sacrificing our own happiness, hobbies or personal relationships just to build or run an organization. Our energy should be managed in a way that allows us to still enjoy our lives while doing our jobs at the same time.   By doing something meaningful in our business we also gain fulfillment and sense of purpose in life.   If some things are not working, take a pause, take ownership and make a change. Figure out what you really want and make a plan on how to make it happen. Take drastic actions, be bold to do things on your way because it is ultimately YOU who must decide how you will live your life, not your work or business.    In this episode you will learn: 1. Balancing work and personal life 2. Finding the purpose of your business 3. Importance of managing energy

  • What To Do When A Key Employee Is Underperforming And Has Bad Attitude
Episode 28   In this episode, Doug and Tim discuss ways on how to deal with employees who are underperforming and has a bad attitude.   Tim and Doug pointed out the importance of ownership and providing opportunities to employees in order to rule out problems like this within a team.   In cases like this, the employer or the boss should identify the root cause of why the employee underperforms and is unhappy. One way to find out is to open up a conversation, clear out misunderstandings and address the concerns right away. Take ownership. Know their morning routines, look into the availability of the tools necessary in performing their job, take into consideration their personal problems, or review their KPI because they might just not be the right person for the job.   You should also examine the kind of leadership your company has. Poor leadership style oftentimes is the reason for low employee retention and satisfaction. Lack of motivation also plays a big role in why an employee underperforms and loses passion for his/her job.   To address this, a clear road map should be presented to them so that this will serve as their motivation to perform well and achieve their goal such as promotion. Engage them also to activities where they can share their talents. By giving them opportunities like this, they will feel valued. As a result, they will become more productive and satisfied in doing their job.     In this episode you will learn:
    • How to improve employee retention, productivity, and satisfaction.
    • Importance of motivation in the workplace.
    • Giving value and consideration to the needs of our employees.
    • Importance of a good leadership style.
    • How opportunities and rewards within the company improve the performance of employees.
    • Importance of organizational chart, KPIs and knowing who is the person right for the job.

  • How to Navigate Unmet Expectations

    Episode #27

In this episode, Tim and Doug share valuable tips on navigating unmet expectations.

Tim shares a story of one of his men in the Alpha Reset brotherhood and how the relationship of this man and his wife turned sour for 2 years due to unidentified and unmet expectations.

Oftentimes, unmet expectations are results of uncommunicated, unidentified or hidden expectations or an expectation without possibilities.

To navigate unmet expectations, it should be communicated clearly and calmly. Navigating unmet expectations also means being able to think outside the box for possibilities or alternatives instead of expecting an exact black or white outcome.

If you're expecting change, do not expect for a drastic one, open up the possibilities to allow the time it takes for change to happen.

If there are no possibilities within your expectation then you are setting yourself up for a guaranteed disappointment. Clear and good communication is crucial in navigating unmet expectations.

What you will learn in this episode:

    • The 2 things that cause the most stress in a relationship
    • The importance of clear communication in a relationship
    • The difference between Expectations and Possibilities
    • The importance of having a support group
