In this episode of The Real Build, I sat down with Vinnie Candelore, the creative director at 1 Team Media and owner of VC2 Art. Vinnie specializes in a wide range of artistic mediums, including paintings, custom shoes, art prints, and murals. He also hosts The Athletic Aesthetic Podcast, where art and sports connect through engaging conversations.
Vinnie grew up working from a young age, and after trying out different jobs, he never found something he truly loved. However, as a child, Vinnie always had a passion for drawing and painting. After walking away from a job, he decided to fully commit to his true passion—painting—and the rest is history.
Today, Vinnie paints portraits of some of the top athletes in various sports and designs custom shoes for many of them. He has also become a major contributor to the growth of 1 Team Media in Pittsburgh, PA.
Vinnie and I discussed several topics, including:

In this episode of The Real Build, I sat down with my former high school football coach, friend, and mentor Coach Chris Metzger. Coach Metzger made a huge impact on my life growing up. He not only coached me in football but also instilled in me the values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance that have carried me throughout my life and career. His Leadership on and off the field helped shape the person I am today, and I’m honored to share our conversation, where we discuss the lessons learned on the gridiron, the importance of mentorship, and how faith in God has been a guiding force in both of our lives.
Some other topics we discussed were going from transactional to transitional in coaching. Metzger's 5 Pillars of Success: Leadership is biblical, how you do one thing is how you do all things, and you take ownership.

As entrepreneurs, we experience a lot of ups and downs, balancing business, employees, family, and friends. In this episode of The Real Build, I had the pleasure of sitting down with my friend Tre Tipton. Tre is an inspiring individual who serves as the Director of Business Development at 1Team Media, Co-Host of the Athletic Aesthetic Podcast, Host of Tred Talk, and Founder of LOVE (Living Out Victoriously Everyday). Tre shares his powerful story of overcoming immense adversity from a young age.
Tre's journey began as a Division 1 football player at the University of Pittsburgh, where he faced significant trials. During his freshman year, he battled deep depression and, in his darkest moments, attempted to take his own life multiple times. One night, standing on the edge of a bridge, Tre made a life-changing decision to turn his life around and never look back.
Despite these challenges, Tre's passion for football drove him to continue playing at a high level. However, tragedy struck again when a severe hit on the field left him with a collapsed lung, nearly taking his life. While in the hospital, Tre experienced a profound moment of clarity, hearing God’s voice urging him to get up and assuring him that his journey was far from over.
After several more years of battling injuries, Tre ultimately retired from football after a seven-year career. Today, he channels his experiences into helping other athletes overcome adversity, speaking, and leading within his community. Tre also dedicates his time to coaching young athletes through his 7-on-7 football camps, continuing to inspire the next generation.

In this episode of The Real Build, I sat down with Mat Earl, the co-owner of Keeneye Construction in Morgan, Utah. Mat specializes in new construction and remodeling projects. We talked extensively about building, but we really focused on the importance of taking care of clients and how Mat consistently goes above and beyond for every one of his clients. He mentioned that he's almost afraid not to help a client, even with a small detail, because, in his mind, the house will crumble if he doesn't. Mat is the definition of the ideal contractor.
Mat and I also discussed his role as a father and how he has always been there for his kids, no matter how busy his work schedule gets. We talked about building culture and a strong team in construction. We also touched on the future of construction and how there is so much opportunity for the younger generation right now.
