The deviation between the S&P and the 200-DMA is at an all-time high. Combined with declining money flows, money flow signals set to flip, and declining volume--and the length of time since the last correction--the pump is more than primed for a return to the 200-DMA. Watch market behavior for a familiar pattern of climbing, flattening, and falling to at least the 50-DMA--which have corresponded to money flow sell signals. The Jackson Hole meeting will have an impact, especially if a time line for tapering is revealed. The Gold conundrum: Concerns about inflation, slower economic growth, and the impact of COVId on the economy have seemed to not affect golf at all--still underperforming. The problem with gold is, there's no fear in the markets. Buy signals extend on declining money flows--watch the MACD, about to flip from buy to sell. A MACD crossover could lead to a bigger correction. Markets are contained, and there is risk all the way down to the 50-DMA. NASDAQ is in similar shape, bouncing off 20-DMA Tuesday, and very deviated from 200-DMA. Emerging Markets have risen, but running into overhead resistance. International Markets have burned up much of their momentum; not a great place for capital allocation. Mid-caps have not been performing well, and small-caps aren't, either.
