This is not an episode about calling someone out - it’s an episode about how easily a throw away statement by an expert can have the opposite impact. We all get things wrong and in this episode, I’m talking about a statement I heard recently that didn’t seem true to me. More than not seeming true, it stuck with me as something that could be harmful to gender stereotypes, expectations, and the conversation on empathy and consent.
