In this Conversation Brigette and Kristen talk about why it matters to have a spiritual identity and how Kristen views herself because of having one. They talk about how it impacts your life, helps you through struggles and gives you purpose.
Kristen Walker Smith is a co-host of the One Minute Scripture Study podcast, a Deseret Book masterclass teacher, BYU Education Week speaker, EFY teacher, former seminary teacher, and bestselling author. Kristen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University where she met her darling husband of almost 20 years; they are the parents of three wonderful, rascally children. An accidental resilience researcher and cheerleader to all, Amber Robbins has a passion for strengthening families and teens. After her own family began to face intense bullying and aggression, she went back to graduate school to earn a M.Ed. in School Counseling in an effort to help other children and teens who face these challenges. "I don't have to know, my job is to listen" When talking about how she determines the podcast themes, guests, episodes and deeper truths that end up being taught.
"I have to be responsible for what I do, learn and create with what I am given"
Brigette shares a story about how on January first her family went out to the desert in their big truck and found themselves stuck in the mud- literally starting the year covered in mud and needing help to get out. she talks about how we can feel stuck as everyone else seems like they are thriving, but it doesn't have to be the worst day of our life.
"it ended up being a several hour l, not a big deal" kind of moment.
"transformation- we make it harder than it is, as soon as your willing to let go of something, you feel relief, you feel space."
"When your stuck where you are, it doesn't Geel good enough, so you start trying to control EVERYTHING"
"Stuck people get obsessed with where they are and making it perfect"
"There is power in collaboration because you are transforming from where you were to a new place"
To be the queen of your life you have to be completely unavailable for excuses- always look to see where you had participated even if it is only the 5% of what happened, by owning it, you will operate from a position of queen" - Gina DeVee
"Own where you are right now, operate from that space and it will give you power because you won't be willing to stay in that place when you FULLY own it"

"Do not move on to a new year without letting go of nothing significant. An old idea, label, habit, fear, concern of ego, let go to free up the whitespace for something new to enter" - Brendon Burchard
Tips for transforming your life:
1. Ask yourself: what are you willing to let go of this year?
2. What space will that create for you? What COULD you do with that space?
3. If you want that... what are you willing to do to make it happen?
"Letting go of things can feel huge and then you'll often find it wasn't actually that big of a deal"
"Successful people understand you have to have "space" to Do ALL THE THINGS"
"to live the dream you have to let something go"
"Your going to be a different person at the end of 2022 no matter what you do because life happens, so by letting go,, you can be the person you want to be, a person you can be proud of"
