I’ve Been Living on a Farm for the last 2 Years…Things like Taking the Trash Out Are a Workout…
My wife and I moved to a 5 acre horse farm in 2019. To say it was a lot of work the first year was an understatement. We completely remodeled the entire house. What has been a blessing in disguise has been the amount of physical effort it takes to keep up with the home.
I’ll give you a very real example. Taking out the trash. Such an easy task for me in my previous home. Here I have to take my trash can about 200 meters on a gravel road up hill. This is not an exaggeration. Anyone that comes to our house will mention how we should get a 4-wheeler to take the trash to the street. (I don’t mind)
Cutting the grass, moving logs, bushes, branches, and watching out for wild animals are all par for the course. I once headed to my barn to almost walk into a baby deer resting near the door.
I was shocked to see this little guy there who struggled to stand and walk because of their young age.
The silver lining to all this has been my activity in 2019-2021 has gone up not down.
My question to you is simply this… in 2021 are you more active than you were in 2019?
2020 changed the way many of us do business and live our lives. Many businesses don’t require you to go to the office. Normal activity like walking has decreased. Many don’t need to leave their houses to do normal tasks they once did.
Weight gain for the average person who gained weight in 2020 was 29 pounds.
I feel more compelled than ever to help coach and motivate our clients to train. We are committed to helping you stay fit and active in a world where activity has fallen off a cliff.
Our Drop the Weight Challenge is wrapping up next week. My weekly coaching calls have gone well and I have recorded all of those calls. If you are interested watching our nutrition program videos- please let me know and I’ll get you access.
Our Cardio Challenge for May will be starting soon. We would love for you to take part in our next challenge. The cardio challenge is a great excuse to be more active during a beautiful time of year.
Finally, finding ways to be active in your day to day life is key. In moving to a horse farm I have found a way to be more active.
What ways can you find in your life to be more active and healthy?
