近日美國各地創下高溫紀錄，許多城市都受到這波熱浪 (heatwave) 的影響，在加州北部也出現了難以撲滅的野火，損面積達到142,477英畝，比起2021年足足高了4倍 (38,889英畝)，專家警告這與氣候變遷(climate change) 密不可分，未來極端天氣現象只會越來越強烈，今年極端天氣現象已經造成全美80億美金的損失，從二月德州破紀錄低溫，到最近侵襲美國西北方的熱浪，目前已超過200人死亡。

經濟重創、食物與醫療物資短缺，以及物價飆升，在疫情威脅之下古巴近日發生了幾十年來最大的反政府抗議 (anti-government protest)，另一方面，總統 Miguel Díaz-Canel 宣稱國家所遭遇的困難都是源於美國自1962以來的經濟制裁，同時面對抗議示威者，採取激進的安全維安舉動，甚至教唆支持者走上街頭捍衛古巴！

你有太空夢嗎？7月11日，新墨西哥州，這週要過71歲生日的維珍集團創辦人 Richard Branson 搭乘維珍銀河 Virgin Galactic 的太空梭達到海拔高度53英里（85.9公里），這是史上第一次有兩位駕駛員與四位乘客一起上太空的壯舉，此次飛行最高點機艙內會進入幾分鐘的失重狀態，乘客可以透過窗戶看到地球的弧線，幾分鐘過後太空梭順利著陸回到地面。值得一看的是一週後7/20號，剛卸任亞馬遜執行長的貝佐斯 Jeff Bezos 也將乘著自家公司 Blue Origin 的飛行器上太空，這兩次的壯舉即將揭開太空旅行新篇章！

July 10, 2021 EP7 - 不ok也沒關係！It's O.K. Not to Be O.K.!

大家這週好嗎？又到了週六聊英文的時候了！今天要接著上週《EP6 - 時代雜誌：運動員的心理健康》繼續延伸NBC新聞，這篇新聞提到美國小孩自停課以來，小孩及青少年憂鬱症患者急劇增加！我們先來看數據，2020年7月時，時任美國疾病管制與預防中心 (CDC) 主任的 Robert Redfield 表示，自殺和吸毒過量的人數超過了高中生 COVID-19 的死亡率。 2020 年 3 月，13 至 18 歲人群因蓄意自殘的保險索賠比前一年增加了 90%，4 月份幾乎增加了 100%。 CDC表示，2020 年 4 月至 10 月，5 至 11 歲兒童的急診室心理健康就診次數與 2019 年同期相比增加了 24%，青少年增加了 31%。自 2020 年 3 月以來，超過 20% 的學齡兒童的心理或情緒健康狀況惡化。數據會說話，讓我們一起探討孩童與青少年的心理健康問題！

美國總統拜登周四 (7月8日) 宣布美軍將在8月31日完成撤離阿富汗 (Afghanistan)，並表示美國已經達到了在阿富汗的目標，即打擊恐怖主義塔利班組織 (the Taliban) 威脅。美國從2001年911事件後就開始了阿富汗戰爭，至今已經將近20年，對美國來說這是一場看不到盡頭的戰爭，不過此舉必定會掀起新一波政治變化。

海地總統莫伊茲 (Jovenel Moïse) 昨日在首都太子港家中遭到暗殺身亡，終年53歲。其妻子海地第一夫人 (Martine Moïse) 傷勢不明。臨時總理約瑟夫 (Claude Joseph) 暫代國家領導人職務。他呼籲國民保持冷靜，並且宣布全國進入緊急狀態 (state of emergency)。

香港政府今年5月向立法會提交文件，研擬「反起底法」，為了要打擊網路起底行為。港府建議，個人資料私隱專員有權要求任何在香港提供服務的網絡平台於限期內糾正起底內容。包括Facebook、Twitter、Google、Apple、Amazon 等公司已私下發信警告香港政府，如果繼續推動修改法例，要求這些公司為平台上起底個人資料的行為負責，那麼它們可能會退出香港市場。

這個字也可以拼作doxing，最早出現在2009年，代表將某人的個人資訊放上網路，通常作為懲罰或報復使用，有些人也將它作為中文「人肉搜索」的英語翻譯。這個詞源自於早期的dropping docs和 doc-dropping，doc在這裡可不是只一般的文件，這裡指的是任何個人私人的文件，dox當作及物動詞使用。

最近美俄關係因為美國企業受到大量來自俄羅斯的駭客攻擊而降至冰點，JBS美國最大的牛肉供應商，支付勒索駭客等值1100萬美金的比特幣 (Bitcoin)。根據美國網路安全公司的統計，至今已經有至少200家美國企業遭受攻擊，其中還包含了美國殖民管道 (Colonial Pipeline) 五月時的網路攻擊，導致美國東海岸石油供應短缺，公司已經支付駭客約500萬美元的比特幣，其中230萬美元被FBI追回。
