A few years ago I shared my Reinvention Series that was wildly popular (Ep. 301-306). It shared my 3.5 year period of going through a terribly difficult time that included a debilitating back injury, 2nd knee replacement, sleep apnea diagnosis, being burnt-out, and ultimately exiting Fitness Quest 10 from day-to-day operations.

What I realize now is that it was all a setup for what is about to be NEXT. I recently made a huge decision that is setting up my next step in business & life. But I had to take the FIRST step before advancing to the NEXT step. After 25-years of being in my original location where I started my gym, I have decided to NOT renew my lease. There are several reasons why and I will share all of them on today’s IMPACT SHOW episode.

Gave us an extra 1,000 square feet. Then in 2006, we took over downstairs. It was a 500K expansion. I was scared and excited. 11. And Then Some: The 6-things I put on a Notecard to manifest an additional $10,000 per month when expanding.

Have you ever moved from something that makes little or no sense to the outside world, but it feels so RIGHT on the inside world? 2. Have you ever been so scared to make a move that you deliberated for a while, or even too long, before making it? 3. How does FEAR play out in your world? Does it paralyze or crush you? Or does it propel you?4. What big decisions are you making today that you KNOW the answer “inside” but you aren’t making them… (employee, expansion, sell, or acquire, grow, invest, etc.) and WHEN are you going to make those decisions? What is going to happen that will allow you to make them?

I just got back from prison. Yep—you read that right. Melanie and I, alongside legendary author & philanthropist Bob Goff and the Love Does team, spent a full day inside San Quentin State Prison in northern CA. And let me tell you, it was one of the most powerful, life-changing experiences you could only imagine. Today’s episode is raw, real, and fresh—we recorded it just days after getting back. You’ll hear from both me and Melanie as we share what we saw, what we felt, and the incredible lessons we learned from the men inside those walls, many of them who have life-sentences.

Before diving in, I’ve got three coaching questions for you that deal with the 7-lessons we will share today (Please keep them in mind WHILE you are listening to this episode):

7. The Power of a Mission – What Bob Goff and “Love Does” is doing to build schools across the globe inspired Melanie and I to ask: “How can the Durkin IMPACT Foundation do even more? Listen in…

At the heart of it all, this trip reminded me of something Pastor Miles McPherson told me years ago: “All people—prisoners, homeless, troubled, broken—they are ALL God’s people, made in His image.” So true. Melanie and I left San Quentin in deep gratitude and with a burning question: How can we do more? How can we serve in ways that create even greater IMPACT?

So, I’ll leave you with one more question today:

The people you surround yourself with in both the good times and the bad times will make or break you. And today, I’m sharing a message that recently hit me at 1:30 in the morning, and forced me to pop-up, write down my thoughts, and later record a little Spittin’ Fire (hence Ep. 440).

So today, I’m talking about your “cornermen” (or corner-women) in your life — the thoroughbreds who lift you up, sharpen you, and help you to keep swinging…even when you’re down & out. Or give you specific instruction on how to get out of a tough time. Specifically, I’ll give you 5-moves you can make right now, whether you are winning the fight…or getting your butt kicked.

Specifically, I’m going to share 5 moves that will help you do the following:

• How to get rid of the stinkin’ thinkin and the scarcity mindset that can rob you when you in the middle of the “fight.”
