There are more women named in the book of Numbers besides Miriam, and thousands more implicated by the events in its pages, and yet, we know none of them. Even just this week, we asked each other, how did we not know about these stories before? How come this is the first time? And that is a question worth asking again and again. How did I not know? Why did I not know?"
