We are living in a time where many people feel behind in life due to the pervasive influence of social media, which often portrays unrealistic and an idealized version of achievements, relationships and lifestyles. Add to that the societal pressures to reach certain milestones by specific ages – such as marriage, having children, home ownership, and career success – and it can exacerbate feelings of inadequacy and delay. The impact of these things are far reaching and lead individuals to feel stuck, overlooked and as if they should constantly strive to catch up.
