Are you currently working with some hard-to-read characters? No matter what you do, you just can’t seem to pinpoint where they’re at emotionally? When you work with a wide range of personalities, this is bound to happen!

Bill was hosting a workshop and couldn’t help but notice a woman who looked visibly upset at Bill. Her body language was throwing him slightly off and he was concerned about it.

He approached her and it turned out she was deeply invested in the workshop! She was inspired by the talk! She was just tired. It was a powerful insight for Bill. We get invested in our ability to “read” people, but sometimes we just get that part plain wrong.

The biggest takeaway Bill learned was to not assume! Instead, check in and validate. Ask questions and come in with an open mind about it. You never know what you might find.
