Hello everybody, and welcome to a new episode of News Bites!

In today's news:

All that and more, coming up next.

How Taiwan is Helping Ukraine
There is a war (戰爭) happening right now in the European country of Ukraine.
Lots of Ukrainian people have lost their homes, because they were attacked (被攻擊) with bombs (炸彈).
Many have had to go to other nearby countries, like Poland (波瀾).
People around the world are coming together to try to help.
Here in Taiwan, people have held protests (抗議) on the street.
They want to show the Russian Office in Taiwan that they are against Russia attacking Ukraine.
In Taipei, Taipei 101 has lit up with the colors of the Ukraine flag.
And the Taiwan government has sent aid to Ukraine.
"Aid" is another word for help, and it usually means things that are given to another country to help people there, like medical supplies
That is what Taiwan has sent to Ukraine.
On February 28th, Taiwan sent 27 tons of medical supplies.
But people here are also donating money (捐款).
On March 1st, the government announced that a group of companies said they will donate 10 million dollars to help Ukrainian people who have had to leave their country.
Many politicians (政治人物), including President Tsai Ing-wen, have said they will donate one month of their salary (薪水) to help people in Ukraine.
And there is now a special bank account (銀行帳號) if anyone in Taiwan wants to donate money.
I hope Taiwan's efforts can help!

Meteorite Fragment Sells for Over 30 Thousand Dollars
In February 2021, something unusual (奇怪) happened in a small town in England.
A big ball of rock fell from the sky and landed in the town of Winchcombe.
Luckily, nobody was hurt.
And the British government (英國政府) called on people in the town to bring pieces of the rock in so scientists could examine (檢驗) them.
Some people did, and the scientists found that the rock was actually a 4.6 billion-year-old meteoroid.
It came from a bunch of rocks orbiting (繞行) the sun between the planets Jupiter (木星) and Mars (火星).
That bunch of rocks is known as the asteroid belt.
A piece of the asteroid belt meteorite went on sale this month at a London auction (拍賣).
The piece weighed just 15 grams… but experts thought it could sell for over 30 thousand U.S. dollars!
Despite its small size it will be one of largest pieces of meteorite owned by a member of the public.
And it's not the only strange thing that was sold at that auction.
A dog kennel - that's a dog house - was sold there for 44,100 dollars.
But that dog kennel was hit by another meteorite back in 2019.
It belonged to a family in Costa Rica
Luckily, they said that the dog is fine!
Wow… I do love space… but I think I'd rather spend thousands of dollars on something more useful!

Princes Have Chores to Do Too!
Prince George may become King of Great Britain one day… but his mom Catherine says he still needs to do chores (家務).
During a visit to a goat farm, George's parents saw a machine (機器) used to move hay (乾草) in one of the barns.
When Catherine was told what the machine did, she said, "That was George's job at half term (半年假期)… moving feed."
Prince William says he and his wife Catherine get their children involved in farming around their home.
The Royal Family spent one week "lambing"… that's when farmers help female sheep give birth to baby lambs.
William said "Charlotte wasn't sure at first, but George was straight in there. Louis loves the tractors."
He also said the children love seeing the lambs and feeding them.
