抬頭望金星 年底前天天可見

Watch for Venus in the Night Sky

If you are out after dark sometime in the next few weeks, look toward the night sky.

Do you see it?

Look southwest, up at about a 30-degree angle…

Look for something that looks like an extra (特別) bright star.

It's actually the planet Venus!

台北市立天文館說，在日落時朝西南方仰角約30度高的天空觀看，就可以輕易看到金星明亮的光點

The Taipei Astronomical Museum says Venus has now moved to its greatest eastern elongation (東大距).

This means it now looks as far away from the Sun as it gets.

And this means it is much easier to see than usual (比平常更…).

The museum says if the sky is dark enough, you can see a circle of light around Venus.

And if you look through a telescope, you can see Venus as a half-moon shape of light.

天文館說天空夠黑的話可以看到金星的星芒，透過望遠鏡觀察還可以看到它呈現半圓形的弦月狀。

In fact, at this time, Venus is the third brightest thing in the sky after the Sun and the Moon.

And the museum says Venus will get even brighter in early December.

It says by that time, you may even be able to spot Venus during the day.

金星在12月初時將達到最大亮度，天文館說這段時間如果氣象狀況適合的話，連白天都有機會用肉眼觀看到金星。

空氣也能做人造「肉」

Meat Made from Thin Air

You've heard a lot about how the way we farm animals now can be bad for the environment.

A lot of water, energy, and land is used for the cows, pigs and other animals we eat.

Some people try to help fix this problem by becoming vegetarian (素食主義者).

Some think we should try eating more bugs.

And now, one company in the US is making meat out of thin air!

The company says they got the idea from the 1960s.

Back then people were trying to think of ways to make sure astronauts (太空人) had enough food to eat when they were in space for a long time.

The idea was that astronauts would eat food, and breathe out carbon dioxide.

Tiny little microbes (微生物) would take the carbon dioxide, and makes it into food.

And that's kind of like what the company is doing.

First, they take parts of air, like carbon dioxide, oxygen and nitrogen.

Then they add water, minerals and a special microbe.

And in the end, they get a powder that is full of protein.

That powder can be used to make all kinds of "Air Meats".

這個美國公司用一種單細胞微生物讓它消耗二氧化碳、水和礦物質營養素，就可以產生含有80%蛋白質的蛋白粉，再將這個蛋白粉做成類似肉類的產品。

The company says air meats actually take greenhouse gases (溫室氣體) out of the air, because parts of these gases are used to make the meat.

Many companies around the world are trying out different ways to make food in ways that are better for the environment.

We may soon have a lot more choices for what we want to eat!

不知道這種使用「空氣」製造出來的肉吃起來是什麼味道呢！

席琳·狄翁延期駐唱

Celine Dion Delays Vegas Residency

A big-name singer has been forced to push back several shows.

Celine Dion was originally supposed to perform several times in Las Vegas.

Those shows were set for November and for next January.

However, she now has health issues that prevent (住址) her from performing.

席琳·狄翁原本十一月和明年一月在拉斯維加斯舉辦駐唱，但現在沒辦法。

Celine has started experiencing very painful muscle spasms (抽搐).

The spasms are so bad that she can't even rehearse for the shows.

Celine says she will focus now on recovering from this condition.

She wants to get back on stage for her fans as soon as possible.

席琳希望她可以儘快康復，可以再替粉絲表演。
