  • Vikings vs Seahawks - GMG In The Raw LIVE!
Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings went to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Sunday Night and absolutely dominated in the first half, but there are two halves as we all know. Join Ted, Flip, Drew and Dave as they give their reactions. ***WARNING*** - There is explicit language in the video and podcast. We’re pretty sure that you had some fly during and after the game too.
Kirk Cousins was who we know him to be. He can play dominate football, then get rattled. He isn’t considered a mobile QB, but Gary Kubiak called a QB draw on the two point conversion attempt. Why? Going for it on 4th down with about a 1/2 yard to go to win the game was a debatable call, but looked to be the correct one. What’s your opinion? Was the play call the right one though? Drew emphatically lets you know it wasn’t.
The defense made some great improvements shutting down the Russell Wilson run offense in the first half. Eric Wilson had his best game and even James Lynch made it in and was impactful with a pressure and his first sack. Things changed in the 3rd quarter, but they got back on track just to succumb to a final Russell Wilson drive where two or three 4th down conversions that led to a typical Vikings loss. As for typical Vikings losses, is it time for the Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer regime to end? Will it? Let us know.

  • Vikings vs Seahawks - GMG Pregame Show
Good morning Horners! Vikings vs Seahawks where defense looks to be an option. This Sunday night, we have the battle between the Vikings and the Seahawks in Seattle. It looks to be an aerial assault like no other with Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins attacking each other's defensive weak spots in the secondary. The question is, can Mike Zimmer and Gary Kubiak pull out the first ever win against Pete Carroll and Wilson? Russell Wilson has weapons like DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and David Moore to send against the Vikings young corners of Jeff Gladney, Cameron Dantzler, and Mike Hughes. Kirk Cousins has weapons too, like Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson, along with the dual threat of Dalvin Cook, and the game looks to have the potential for extremely high scoring.
We talked about the offenses of both teams, and they will definitely be taking advantage of the defenses. The Seahawks have Jamal Adams, their pivotal safety already ruled out for groin injury. They have many other injuries on that side of the ball have not been playing well. The difference is they have an elite quarterback that makes up for it. It sounds real familiar to the injuries on the purple side of the ball, combined with the young corners, and this game might come down to who makes the key defensive stop late in the game. It might be an untimely turnover like Anthony Harris’ pinball interception for a pick six last season. It should be a fun game to watch. Are you looking forward to it?
The game promises to be wild and loud, and full of exciting moves and play, much like Drew’s idol growing up of Eddie Van Halen. Drew gets into how much he meant to him in the show is dedicated to his memory. What Van Halen song would you use to accompany this prime time game?
So join us for first pregame show of the weekend, and then catch GMG In The Raw, the reaction show live 15 minutes after the game.

  • Vikings vs Texans - GMG In The Raw LIVE!
Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings went down to play the Houston Texans and pulled out their first victory of the season. Our favorite team showed more improvement in the offense looks to be getting its legs as we had three players with over 100 yards. Dalvin Cook continued with 130 yards on the ground and another 16 via receptions, leading to two touchdowns. Adam Thielen had eight receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown. Justin Jefferson had 103 yards on four beautiful receptions as well. Kirk Cousins continues to play well in October. He was 16 for 22 and had 127.1 rating. This is good to see considering the Vikings defense still struggles with the youngsters and the backups getting so much playing time due to injuries.
Speaking of that defense, we saw Harrison Smith ejected after a hit where it look like he lead with his head. The rule doesn’t have “intent” in it, and the combination of the receiver ducking his head down, even though Hitman wanted to lead with his shoulder, it was clear that helmets hit. That brought in George Iloka who hadn’t played any snaps in over a season and 1/2, and it showed. Word has it though, that Smith will not be suspended and be available for next week’s game at the Seattle Seahawks. The young corners look to be improving but still have a long way to go. The defensive line did get more pressure, but some of that could be attributed to the poor play of the Texans. Hopefully all this improvement continues.
Enjoy your victory Monday, and tell us what you think will happen next Monday.

  • Vikings vs Texans - GMG Pregame Show
Good morning Horners! Vikings vs Texans down in Houston on Sunday is still on track to happen. After increased Covid testing due to positive tests coming from the Titans last week, the Purple has had to alter their schedule to prepare for the battle of 0-3 teams. After some improvement last week and break out game from Justin Jefferson, the Vikes look to see if they can continue that. The Texans seem to be relatively evenly matched and have much the same faults, but they do have a mobile quarterback in Deshaun Watson. Can the defensive line keep him contained, can they get some sacks, how about the DBs on a fourth set of corner combinations in 4 weeks? All of this we’ll have to wait and see.
Kirk Cousins should be looking to make up for that disastrous last drive from last week, but can the offensive line hold back the likes of JJ Watt? The one super bright spot for targeting is that the Texans give up more yards against the run than any team in football. This should bode well for Dalvin Cook after be boomed out 181 yards last week. Will he get close to that this week? Drew compares the numbers. Ryno comments on Cousins’ leadership, and Ted rejoins the show to give his opinions in only the way Ted can. So join us for first pregame show of the weekend, and then catch the reaction show live 15 minutes after the game.
