The Vikings jump out of a great game in Kansas City to a prime time contest against the Dallas Cowboys. Flip discusses how we should feel about this 6-3 time going into Sunday Night and where the Vikings currently sit in the NFC Playoff picture. They are not the hunted. They are the hunters.

Yes the Vikings go against a a tough team in Dallas, but guess what? Dallas is also playing one of their toughest opponents this season. Fans are fretting about Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes. Don't overlook the fact that Dallas hasn't scene many defenses that good.

The same goes for the Vikings offense. Dallas hasn't played many of their caliber, and there's only one Dalvin Cook. This game isn't something to fear, it's an opportunity to make a statement.It's a chance for players like Alex Mattison and Irv Smith Jr. to shine on prime time.

A win requires better coaching, better execution and far less mistakes. Kirk Cousins will need to be sharp, Stefon Diggs will need to be featured and Danielle Hunter will have to step up. If Minnesota improves from their form in last week's 3 point loss, there's no reason to think Dallas can handle them.

It's a big game in prime time and a chance to go 2-0 this year under the lights. And it's one of the only good games on Sunday. During the day, Green Bay plays their sixth home game against Carolina. Los Angeles comes off their bye to face Pittsburgh between three rivers.And Monday Night should be special too, with the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers going at it in the NFC West.

But the real test awaits Dallas on Sunday Night.

Tick tock, let’s go! The Climbing The Pocket Network and Daily Norseman personalities recorded after your Minnesota Vikings lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. What a spirited discussion was had, just like the score going back and forth on Sunday.

 Play calls seemed off, the run game never got going, Kirk Cousins accuracy was poor, the defense allowed Matt Moore to light them up, and even special teams had their failed moments. There was plenty to take away from this game and hopefully moving forward.

 Flip from Fifteen Minutes with Flipmazzi brings his every present positivity butts heads with Yinka Ayinde of Climbing The Pocket, Ted Glover brings an even sense of humor and sanity, and Dave from Good Morning Gjallarhorn talks about sailed 2 yard passes. Throughout make sure you watch the animated facial expressions of Yinka. Even though the Vikings may have been a little disappointing, the interactions on the show are definitely not. LOL.

Vikings vs Chiefs… Good morning Horners! Well, at least it is morning. First off, congrats to the Kansas City Chiefs for pulling out the game. For fans that aren’t as dedicated to following this team intently as some, this was entertaining with all the lead changes, for the more die hard fan, this game was pull your hair out ugly! Your Minnesota Vikings did not do enough consistently to win on a day where Kirk Cousins threw for only 50%, Stefon Diggs only caught 1 pass, Dalvin Cook’s longest run was only 12 yards, the offensive line, at least parts of it, got manhandled, the defense gave up drives, Trae Waynes was picked on, Dan Bailey misses an extra point wide left, and Britton Colquitt shanks a 27 yard punt at the end because Mike Zimmer didn’t want to kick to Tyreek Hill. Was there just one thing you could really blame for the loss, or was this an all around total system failure that the Vikings still could have won for most of the game? How does it look going into the future and the Vikings chances to win the division, or at least make the playoffs?

 Did anyone ever think that Laquon Treadwell would have the most receiving yards today? With Adam Thielen re-aggravating his hamstring injury, Treadwell was on the field often as the third wide receiver behind Diggs and Bisi Johnson. The play calling featuring him versus Irv Smith Jr more, still makes you scratch your head. Treadwell had 3 catches, Smith 4, and Johnson and Diggs only 1 a piece?! What’s going on here? Cousins did throw 3 TD passes today and had no turnovers, but most throws were short check downs as illustrated by C.J. Ham getting two. Has anyone picked up on that if Cousins hits his first deep pass of the game, we get good Kirk, and if he misses, like today, we get bad Kirk who reverts to his check downs and as reported leaves receivers wide open elsewhere? 

 Matt Moore made plays against the Zimmer defense today. The bend but not break D looked broken at times. The pass rush got better and better, but with safeties having to play cover over Waynes and Xavier Rhodes, shutting down a good team like in 2017, just doesn’t look to be there anymore. On a day when most things needed to go right, there were just so many that didn’t in all phases of the game that led to the loss. Oh, the life of being a Vikings fan.

Vikings vs Chiefs… Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings have flown down to take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The place is loud and Chiefs fans raucous. It will be a real test for the purple on the road. Whether Patrick Mahomes plays [and word is he won’t] or Matt Moore who ran Andy Reid’s offense well against the Green Bay Packers last week, it will test the ability of Mike Zimmer’s defense and offense to come out hot. Sleeping through the first quarter won’t hack it because this team can put up points. Will it be a shootout or can the Vikings control the game? That is the big question.

 The Chiefs have some outstanding receivers. They have Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman that “are ungodly fast” as Drew says. They also have one of the best tight ends in the league with Travis Kelce. We all know that good tight ends have caused problems in coverage. The Chiefs also base 68% of their offense with the pass, so Zimmer and George Edwards will have their hands full slowing and stopping that aerial attack. Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes and the rest of the defensive backfield will have to play at their best.

 After an Eeore moment by Ted and Drew, all is not lost because Kirk Cousins is hot! Dave apologizes for his overreaction after last week to the guys. He hopes to see lots of Dalvin Cook and the run game, but also would like to see passes beyond ten yards to the Vikings studs like Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen [hopefully], Irv Smith Jr., Kyle Rudolph, and Dalvin Cook. If the game does turn into a shootout, the Vikes have the weapons to compete.

 We wrap the show with Drew’s Trivia Challenge, the Vikings vs Chiefs version, and to everyone’s delight, a Don Glover story. This one was about Joe Kapp in Super Bowl IV stirring in a little bit of conspiracy, and who doesn’t like that? This will take you into today’s game prepared and entertained. Are you ready?

The offense displayed strong improvement over past seasons, with Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook and the WRs all playing well. Jayson states his hope that the offense continue its growth and be able to support winning efforts, even when playing from behind.

Looking at the schedule, Flip wants to see our Vikings go undefeated at home. They’ve been impressive in front of the home purple crowd and that should continue given the matchups. Can MIN be trusted in a divisional game against Green Bay on Monday Night?

Jayson wants to see Minnesota put forward strong performances against Kansas City and Dallas. Kansas City features a prolific offense, so the Vikings will either need to shut them down, or keep pace.

Flip gets really excited for the game against the Cowboys. Key matchups await in a key conference matchup that will help define the NFC playoff picture. It’s time for the Vikings to give their fans a statement win and enter the national conversation.

Jayson has been waiting for a star TE for years. He thinks the Vikings finally found one with Irv Smith Jr. The kid clearly has the ball skills and has displayed great blocking technique, which means he’s got to be on the field more.

Flip wants the draft value conversation to end for Alex Mattison. The rookie produced early returns and he thinks Mattison will be key to managing Dalvin Cook’s workload as we enter the second half of the year.
