  • Vikings vs Broncos - Climbing The Pocket Network Round Table
Tick tock, let’s go! The Climbing The Pocket Network and Daily Norseman personalities recorded after your Minnesota Vikings defeated, in one of their biggest comebacks, the Denver Broncos. Four of our broadcasters and one of our writers got together to talk about the game. It was a stressful one testing our hearts and in some cases our livers. BJ Reiddell from CTPN’s newest show, ”Unbelievable", referred to have seeing his Fitbit watch showing his heartbeat at almost an exercise speed. Was it the same for you?
Dave, from Good Morning Gjallarhorn noticed that there were a lot of Broncos jersey is in the stands at U.S. Bank Stadium and wondered why? Theories of it being hunting season, or a perceived weak opponent were possible answers. Well, they made noise, especially in the first half where the Broncos went up 20 to 0 and the Vikings looked uninspired to say the least.
Then there was the second half, and the Vikings came out on fire! Whether it was coach Zimmer making some pretty radical adjustments, motivating the players in the locker room, or some players them selves, like Stefon Diggs, oh, what a difference! After all the drives in the first half ended up in punts or turnovers, every single one in the second half ended up in a score. This sort of come back, the facing of adversity, builds confidence in the team and its fans going into the rest the season.
A couple other points brought up were about QB sneaks and DBs seemingly aging before our eyes. Hopefully those issues will be resolved over the bye week. Speaking of the bye week, what are your plans for this weekend? Holiday preparations, red zone channel, get that deer you missed last weekend? Whatever they are we hope they are good ones.
We hope you enjoy this type of formatted show. Dave, BJ, Flip from “15 Minutes with Flipmazzi”, Myles Gorham from “Climbing The Pocket” and Matt Fries, one of our fantastic writers appreciate you taking in the show. Please feel free to ask questions and suggest topics for discussion in future Round Table shows here or on Twitter. Have a great victory celebrating bye week, and as always be safe, and GO VIKINGS!

  • Vikings vs Broncos - GMG In The Raw!
Vikings vs Broncos… Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings were victorious over the Denver Broncos! After an absolute horrendous first half that had the Vikings down 20-0, the team made halftime adjustments and roared back and scored on every drive in the second half to pull out the win.
Kirk Cousins stepped up and started to hit Stefon Diggs in the last 2 quarters after Kevin Stefanski went to a no huddle offense. Good Kirk completed his first 4th quarter comeback of his tenure. “Whoa Nelly!” this was one heck of a game.
We hope you enjoyed the game and thrive on stress, because this team generates it. LOL. The Vikings now go into their bye week with a record of 8-3. Be safe and GO VIKINGS!

  • Vikings vs Broncos - GMG Preview Show
Vikings vs Broncos… Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings are at home for this contest against the visiting Denver Broncos. After a quick appeal to the football gods, will Mike Zimmer create a defensive scheme that will destroy the rookie Brandon Allen’s [who?] effort in his first road game as a starter? Will the Broncos defense led by nemesis Vic Fangio’s defensive schemes cause problems for the Vikings offense like they did when he was the Chicago Bears’ DC? We will all find out Sunday afternoon, but the Vikes do have a home field on their side and our fans [that means you] make a difference.
The guys wondered about the decline in Vikings pass defense play by Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes, Mike Hughes’ excessive targeting and if it can be fixed? They like that the offense is stepping forward and that the purple are scoring more points on average than any other squad in the Zimmer era [actually since Brett Favre led the team in 2009]. Kirk Cousins is doing a great job executing the offense and minimizing his mistakes. We may look at the Dallas Cowboys game as the turning point in this season. Let’s just hope that the Broncos aren’t the Buffalo Bills from last year.
Drew leads another trivia challenge, Vikings vs Broncos edition, and Ted gets some great answers. Daunte Culpepper to Randy Moss, then lateraled to Moe Williams is one of our favorite memories from the series. There is more Vikings heritage to learn in this series too, all the while tons of laughs along the way.
We hope you have a great game experience and this show being part of it. Enjoy your day, friends, food, and beverage and a game where at US Bank Stadium, the greatest fans in the league reside. GO VIKINGS!

  • Vikings vs Cowboys - GMG In The Raw!
Vikings vs Cowboys… Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings went into Texas and defeated the Dallas Cowboys in prime time under the lights. They actually won a close game they should have. Good Morning Gjallarhorn celebrated by going live. Drew, Ted and Dave went on air to celebrate with everyone and talk about it. We first want to give a huge shout out to all that joined us, you made the night even better.
What do think of that night Dalvin Cook had? It was special with almost 100 yards rushing [he had it until the very end of the game] and 86 yards receiving. Stefon Diggs was the second leading receiver with 49 yards on a good Kirk Cousins night where he threw for 220 yards, 2 TDs and no interceptions. This led to the Vikings now sitting with a 7-3 record, one game behind the Green Bay Packers.
The Cowboys didn’t roll over and die though, they came out swinging, especially in the second quarter. Dak Prescott threw for 397 yards against Mike Zimmer’s defense. With Trae Waynes out, Mike Hughes got the start with mixed results. The defensive line and linebackers continued to get pressure but only one sack. They did however hold Ezekiel Elliott to just 47 yards rushing and 16 yards receiving. Drew did get the matchup between the two premier backs correct, and that Zim has always found a way to shut down top backs. Cook outperformed Elliott and your Vikings won the night.
We hope you have a great week celebrating the win. Vikings win, Vikings win. Now, it is onto the Denver Broncos coming to US Bank Stadium where the greatest fans in the league reside. GO VIKINGS!

  • Vikings vs Cowboys - GMG Preview Show
Vikings vs Cowboys… Good morning Horners! Your Minnesota Vikings crave to Arlington Texas to take on the Dallas Cowboys in prime time, under the lights, on turf and in a climate control stadium [Jerry’s World].Here at the Daily Norseman, the Climbing The Pocket Network morning show, Good Morning Gjallarhorn with Ted Glover, Drew Bunting, and David Stefano present your game preview show.
We start the show addressing the the mental makeup of the Vikes. We all hear about winning on the road, winning against good teams, winning in prime time, and how all of them have been challenging to this team, and especially to Kirk Cousins. Here is a chance to bust those stereotypes. Can the purple do it? The road the playoffs gets a lot tougher if they don’t.
Keys to game will include how many yards that Ezekiel Elliott can be limited to vs how many total Dalvin Cook can produce per Drew. That requires the Vikings defense to get turnovers and winning the turnover balance. Pressure on Dak Prescott and against the rush will be a necessity. The defensive backfield including Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes [if he plays at all due to injury] will have to be on their game because Dak has already thrown 8 interceptions this season. If they are not, expect to see Mike Hughes and Holton Hill put in early to replace them.
Drew has his latest trivia challenge, Vikings vs Cowboys edition, where we take a trip down history’s lane. Starting with the push off, because why not, and ending with the Vikings winning the last 2 games. This is fun and laughs abound on this one. How well do you do answering the questions?

We hope you have a great Sunday full of good friends, better food, awesome beverages and a Vikings win. GO VIKINGS!
