  • You Could Do Damage

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to the damage. The damage you can cost your life by not showing up, by not living your authentic life, by not being who it is and what all it is that you are destined to be. Sometimes that comes in the form of fear. Sometimes it comes in the form of distraction. Sometimes it just comes in a form of outright laziness. But at the end of the day, you aren't doing and being all that it is that you are destined to be. And how do we know that? Because of the desires of your heart. Are you answering to your calling? Or are you causing distraction because now you're living in regret of all the things that you wish you shoulda coulda woulda done.

I was on my walk and I was listening to H.E.R. and the track "Damage" and when I heard H.E.R. sing, "either learn me or I'm a lesson." I said, God dog. I feel like with anything in life, you either take time to study it or it's gonna make you look at how it's studying you. And basically what I mean by that is that you either take time to curate the life that you want or use it as a lesson as to why you're not living the life that you desire. She also goes on to say, "If you got it ain't no question, no it ain't no room for guessing." Stop wondering and second-guessing yourself about what it is that you want. You know what you want because you know what you feel. You know what you desire. I just need you to know that you're worth it. Stop causing this "damage," this confusion, just because you're scared. Push through that. It's okay to be scared.

You know, dreams don't work unless you do. You know, the magical things happen outside of your comfort zone. They say if you want to be great, you got to do things that great people do and great people do things that everyday people don't do. But what happens when we don't really tap into our potential? It's because we're taken our life for granted. We're taking our circumstances for granted. We're taking time for granted. How many times have you said, "I'll just wait it tomorrow." or "I'll wait next month, next week, next year?" Five, ten, 15, 20 years go around and you're just looking around your head is spinning. H.E.R. says, "careful what you take for granted. Yeah. Because with me, you know, you could do damage."

Imagine if that's what your dreams were saying to you. Imagine the damage of regret, confusion, not being authentically who you are, something that will plague you because you took your time here for granted. You know, we all special offers, right? Here for a limited time only. So I challenge you to live while you're still alive because you're worth it. So either you're going to learn your dream or you're going to let it be a lesson. Just don't let it be damage.

All right, that's it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow us on all social media @VitaminDDawnDai and until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset."

  • Live Your Best Life

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to you living your best life and holding yourself accountable. Now, what I mean by that is I think oftentimes we have these dreams and aspirations of what we want. How we imagine our lives to be. What it really means to get excited about our lives. But sometimes I feel as though we keep it as just a thought process. Oftentimes we have things that get in the way that prevents us from putting one foot in front of the other. And all it takes is one foot in front of the other. It made me think about this track, "Do we have a problem" with Nicki Minaj featuring Lil Baby and in it Lil Baby says, "I played a game to win. I'm not losing."

When we're talking about living our best lives. When we're talking about living out our dreams you have to come with a sense of confidence to know that this is the game of life that you're willing to play. You're not going to stop until it's over because what do they say? "You can't fail if you don't quit." So what do you want? There's a certain kind of confidence. It's a little swag in which you got to move and knowing who you are. But you got to be smart with it. Lil Baby goes on to say, "I'm on point. I know what I'm doing. Way too smart to act like I'm stupid." Half the time we know what we want out of life.

We can see it clearly. It's been bestowed on us, but we get caught in foolishness. Things we don't have any sense of entertaining And what do I say? "If it doesn't serve you, it doesn't deserve you." It can come in the form of situations with people and things. I need you to see what it is and realize that you're way too smart to act like you're stupid. Now, I want to talk about another thing. In going after our best life and living out our dreams. We start with these excuses. Are you making excuses about you living your best life? You got to call a spade a spade. You know, I love the idea when we talk about living our best life, living out our dreams.

We often use the word "trying." What is trying? In life you either do it or you don't. I want to read you this last quote that really got me shook. Lil Baby says, "I'm a vibe. Let me know what you want to do." Your best life, your dreams, your aspirations, your purpose. That's a vibe. Are you willing to ride the vibe of your life? Where you can move with it. Walk with it. Live your best life with it. You know dreams don't work unless you do. So if your dream and your best life is a vibe tell me what do you want to do. Now if you ain't doing it and if your dream couldn't speak to you your best life... I guess the question is... do we have a problem? Do we?

  • All Eyes On You

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to all eyes being on you. You, me, everybody. You know, my vision board I have on their "walk like everyone's watching because they are." And what that says to me is that you're going to have to show up and show out. Live your life full out. Live it exceedingly and beyond. It came to me this song by Will.i.am featuring Britney Spears, "Scream and Shout." I'm at the gym. You know, the sweat is glistening. I'm feeling like, "Yeah." And all I hear is and I quote, "When we up in the club, All eyes are on us. All eyes on us. All eyes on us." It might be the Aries inside of me. It might be a Dawn thing, but it gave me a little oomph to my workout because when eyes are on you, it's time for you to show up and give a show.

You know, I say this even when it comes down to finding a mentor or an opportunity, when somebody places their eyes on you, give them something to see. So if all eyes are on you, what are we seeing? I didn't say just parts of you. I'm saying the best of you. The best is the good and the bad all the way around. All so that it is encompassment of you, if that's a word. Life is for the living. Are you in the game? Full court. Center stage. Star in the movie. All eyes are on you. I guess the question is "what do you see?"

  • Be Nice

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to being nice. To knowing you about that business. That you holding it down. That you got the sauce. That you are the juice. Practically just knowing that you the sh*t. And I want to remind you of that. You can be, do and have whatever it is that you want out of life. But you got to know. You got to feel it. Inside. I was checking out this track by The Carters. It's called "Nice" and in it they belt, "I can do anything. Hell nah. Hell nah." And I'm like, "yeah." We can be, do, have whatever we want out of life. We just got to believe it. We just got to stay focused. We just got to get in the notion that we have to keep reminding ourselves. And in it, Jay-Z says, "What would you do? You knew you couldn't fail. I have no fear of anything. Do everything well."

What would you do if you could not fail? Who would you be? Where would you be? Whatever it is, I want that for you. I want you to go after that. He goes on to say, "I have no fear of death. We all want to do that." Straight facts. We gon die one day. That is for certain. You cannot get out of that. But my question for you is that "while we're still alive, are you living?" It's time for you to get up, get out and do something for yourself and say, "I can do anything." Get out there and be nice. All right? All right.

  • Show Yourself Love

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to showing yourself love. You know, I say how you do anything is how you'll do everything. And that starts with you. How do you treat yourself? Are you kind to yourself? Do you treat yourself with grace? I was in a gym working out and a classic track came on. Show Me Love by Robin S. All I can hear and say, "what I need is somebody who really cares." Oh, oh, you got to show me love. Anyway, so she's jamming with that and I'm sitting there and I'm thinking because as I'm working out, I feel like I'm talking to myself about my dreams. See things that you care and that you love. You treat with care. You're kind with it.

You're graceful with it. You show up for it and you stand with integrity with it. She even goes on to say, "I really need a lover, a lover who wants to be there." Now, if it's your dreams, if it's your relationships, if it's yourself, are you loving on yourself? Are you loving on yourself the way that you say that you love yourself? Because then I wonder, how are you showing up for yourself? When we talk about living our best life it's about you showing up and showing up with love. And it's so easy for us to proclaim these affirmations, saying what we want to do, But as Robin says, she says, "Words are so easy to say. You've got to show me love."

She even goes further on to say, "actions speak louder than words." So you can say all you want about how you love yourself, how you want to do better, but what exactly are you doing? Because I need you to step boldly, unapologetically. And I want to quote Robin again "and come with your heart in your hand. And tell yourself, because my love is guaranteed." What are you guaranteeing for yourself? I'm just wondering. But whatever it is, I hope you handle it with care. Show yourself some love.

  • You're Suppose To Be Great

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to understanding how you're not supposed to be good when you're supposed to be great. What I mean by that is how you decide to show up in the world, because what do I say? How you do anything is how you'll do everything. So how are you showing up for yourself? How are you showing up for the people that you love? How are you showing up for the things that you care about? It kills me when people talk about, "Oh, this little project?" "Oh, this little thing?" "Oh, I'm not doing nothing major on here." Everything you do should be real big. You should be in ahh of it. It should get you excited about it because if it's not, what are you doing it for?

You know we're gonna die, right? You know that that is a fact, not an option. A stone-cold fact. So anything that is an extension of you should just be real big. Real big in love. Real big in joy. Real big in peace. Real big in happiness. Real big in you being you. And I was listening to this track by Jasmine Sullivan it's entitled "Roster" and in it she's talking about dating and a relationship and wanting this brother to understand that I got plenty of people to choose from. So don't get too comfortable. But there was something that she said that really caught my ear. She said "the world's too big to think so small." How do you think of yourself? Because if this world is so ginormous and all that we can do, what we can accomplish, how we can feel the abundance.

How are you showing up in it? Are you taking up your rightful space? Are you taking your seat at the table? Or in fact, are you becoming the table? How you do anything is how you'll do everything and sometimes we have to remind ourselves to keep on keeping on. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that there's a such thing as a pivot. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves is the key is to keep your head above water. You catch what I'm saying? So just because it doesn't work out in how you envisioned; just because it didn't work out in the timeframe in which you thought it was going to work out, that does not give you permission to play small.

What they say? Go big or go home. You can't be good when you're supposed to be great. And I'm here to tell you right now, you got greatness over your life. You ready to show up? They say how you do anything is how you'll do everything. Don't be good when you're supposed to be great. All right.

  • The Good Days

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to the good days. Not some day, not one day, the good day, which is right now and I say right now because now is all that we have. I don't care how far you look forward in the future or how far you want to look back. It's no relevance until we have right now. But I know we play these games in our mind. We run in circles. We cause ourselves anxiety. But it's time for us to go ahead and free ourselves. It made me think of this track by SZA, it's entitled "Good Days." And in it she says, "Good day in my mind. Safe to take a step out. Get some air now. Let your edge out." When are you going to say to get out of here? When are you going to get tired of telling that same story that doesn't serve you? And what do I say? "If it doesn't serve you, it doesn't deserve you." And sometimes you have to tell that to yourself. And get this. You're not the only one that's going through something.

SZA even talks in the song. She says, and I quote, "Got me a war and my mind. Got to let go away. Can't keep holding. Got to let go of weight. Can't keep what's holding me." When are you going to free yourself? When are you going to give yourself permission to live? In the moment, in the now, and be grateful for who you are and who you've become and who you are becoming? Hmm? I feel like half the time we're looking so far ahead or trying to look so far back that we forgot what it is to be in the now.

You will never be this young again. You will never be this fine again. You will never have this moment right now again. So what are you wasting it on? Hmm? She goes on to say, "Half of us chasing fountains of youth and it's in the present right now." Trying to figure out what's the next thing to jump on rather than just being where you are right now and growing from this moment. Stop thinking that it has to be something different, what it is right now and understand the beauty of what it is and where you are right now. That's the "good day." The good day is when you can free yourself. Allow your mind to be free. Allow your spirit to be free. Allow your heart to be free. More importantly, allowing you to be free. Make today a good day.

That's it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow us on all social media @VitaminDDawnDai and until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset."
