  • Elevate Yourself

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to elevation. It’s time to uplevel in every area of your life. From your lifestyle, your thought process, what you put in your body, the people you surround yourself with & everything else you can imagine.

But let me ask you this, what is the vision that you have for your life? What do you see? What you see right now…is that where you want to be? Do you aspire to be more and do more? To discover more within yourself? Then it’s time to elevate. Half the time I feel like what get’s in the way of us living our best life is being concerned with what everybody else thinks. Well, it’s time to get like Coi Leray in her hit single, “No More Parties” and say “fuck everybody, I can’t trust nobody” cause everybody can’t see what you see for your life. They can’t understand the vision, your drive, cause they ain’t you.

Sometimes the best road is the road less traveled & that’s going to require you to say, “I’m off to better things, I’m only doing shit that’s gonna make me elevate. Only want people around that gonna make me better.” Catch it!

That’s it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow me on all social media @dawndaispeaks & until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset!"

  • Live Your Life For You

Today’s dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to finally living your life for you. You know, we get so caught up in caring what other people think of us, that we rob ourselves of our own joy. We will adjust the way we walk, talk, dress, how we wear our hair, who we date, what we do for a living based on someone else’s opinion of us. Ain’t that crazy? Now I’m not saying that it’s uncommon but that’s crazy as hell when you think about it. To actually allow someone who cannot eat for you, who cannot sleep for you nor use the bathroom for you to dictate how you live your life. You know, I think it’s because of shame or some sort of lack of confidence of being who we are meant to be and the thing is is that being who we are is what makes us shine.

You know, I was on my morning jog and I came across this remix or you can say “2.0 version” of Cece Peniston's legendary hit, “Finally” and this is with Amorphous & Kelly Rowland and in the track Kelly belts, “Waited for this moment, it’s so golden. You can see it in the way we shine, oh yes I do believe we’re chosen.” Yes, we have been chosen to live our best life on purpose and for a purpose and you can only do that by being authentically who you are. That may look like you declaring, “the words you used to try to hurt me, don’t mean a thing anymore….ain’t no stressin, ain’t no worries, it’s me I’m living for.”

Are you ready to live your life for you? I hope you too can say, “Finally it has happened to me, right in front of my face, my feelings can’t describe it.” Cause that’s joy and you deserve that!

Alright. That’s it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow me on all social media @dawndaispeaks & until next time, always remember, “you are your greatest asset.”

  • Maybe I'm Crazy

Today’s dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to being “crazy.” Completely out of your mind to the point you can look around at all the trials & tribulations going on in your life & still know that a brighter day is coming. I mean that’s what they call faith, right? The belief in things hoped for & the certainty of the things unseen. it sounds like you have to be crazy to have faith. There is nothing sensible about faith because you are expecting the super to be placed on the natural. See i expect god to do some exceedingly & abundantly things in my life. Far more than what I could ever imagine, because that’s the promise that was placed over my life & I’m coming for everything god promised me because I deserve that & you deserve that, too. we are worthy of that.

In the hit song “Crazy” by Gnarls Barkley aka CeeLo, he belts, “who do you think you are, ha ha ha, bless your soul, you really think you’re in control.” Did you catch it? Often times we get so caught up in trying to control the things around us, that we forget the power of our faith & how all it takes is the size of a mustard seed. Just a little little and with that faith, what is it that you can’t do, overcome or achieve? CeeLo goes on to say, “my heroes had to the heart to lose their lives on the limb, and all I remember is thinking, I want to be just like them.” Do you have the heart to live your life full out? Or are you so caught up with what you see going on around you that you forgot your vision? The vision of having a clean bill of health. the vision victory. The vision of being debt-free. The vision of having your own talk show. The vision of being on SNL. The vision of traveling the world. the vision of living in the house of your dreams. The family that you prayed for. please tell me you still have the vision. Because without the vision the people will perish. My vision goes beyond what I can see, “but maybe I’m crazy” and that’s alright with me.

  • Be In A Position To Win

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to you placing yourself “in a position to win”…to be victorious to be successful..to have all that you desire in life. Because you deserve that. Now, question is, are you placing yourself in a position to win? Because winners take chances. Winners aren’t afraid to make mistakes. Winners surround themselves with positive people. Winners ain’t afraid to put in that work. Winners understand that you can’t fail if you don’t quit.

In the hit track, “Position To Win,” rap trio Migos talk “Steppin Up” and how you have to “always take the risk.” Because when you talk “livin’ life” as a winner you “go hard and don’t quit.” catch it. They go on to say, “set my goals like a go, hit the switch….work work work, check it off the list.” Faith without works is dead, right? Are you putting in that work? and then go on to say, “I take high risks cause I’m passionate.” Look, being a winner may require you to jump for your dreams, are you willing to take the leap? It’s time to be “bout that action, let’s get active!” Place yourself “in a position to win, in a position to go!”

  • Let's Get Naked

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to taking it all off! I mean every word…it’s time to get naked. It’s time to wipe the shame off your face, strip yourself of all your guards and walk with your arms wide open. It’s easy to pretend to be perfect, but how about just being real. Being you.

So what’s your excuse? You doubt your own strength to overcome what’s present in your life, so you hide. Rather than knowing your faults and what you need to overcome, you hide behind them and drown. Why is that? Not realizing that it is your “shame” that has you imprisoned in the first place. Perhaps that’s what makes the rose that grew from the concrete so special. Despite its debilitating circumstances, it was still able to grow towards the light.

Regardless of the situation that is being faced your way. It is important to understand that you can either have a breakdown or a breakthrough. You may not be able to physically see it, but you can indeed envision it. Think of a beautifully wrapped box on a special occasion. It’s amazing to look at, but the true gift is inside. Just like hit R&B crooner Labrinth, I’d like to know if I could see “Beneath Your Beautiful?”

    Or better yet…can you?

  • I Got The Juice

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to you declaring, “I got the juice.” Now there isn’t exactly a definition of what the “juice” is, but I like to think of it as your power, your potential, your dopeness! And ain’t nobody got what you got. Can’t nobody do what it is that you do, when you do what you do, you feel me? So affirm that! You know, I’m a firm believer of speaking life and speaking life over your life and I need you to know that you got the juice.

Janelle Monae, she has this track feat. Pharrell called, “I Got The Juice.” and in it, she sings, “you're so damn electric, you know you got that juice, ain't no one fresher than you” and I need you to catch that too. You dope as hell…just the way you are! Now, the only requirement is that you be brave enough to show up as you, unapologetically and stop looking and checking what everybody else is doing because there is only one of you. And when you’re running your race, there can only be one winner…and that's you. “You’re number one and don’t you doubt it.” So the next time you get in the mirror, I need you to look at the reflection looking back at you and say, “I got the juice!” Now get out there and shine & be the star you were destined to be.

That’s it for your dose of "Vitamin D," be sure to follow me on all social media @DawnDaiSpeaks & until next time always remember, "you are your greatest asset."

  • Be A Cool Kid

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to being a “cool kid.” When you were a child, you were the freest. If you wanted something, you went after it. You had an imagination out of this world! Something as simple as having a cape tied around your neck had you believing that you could fly. New sneakers made you feel you could run faster and jump higher. If you liked something you said it right away and if you didn’t you did as well. It was then that you were your most authentic self. At some point while maturing you were taught the opposite. You were taught to stay in a single file line, to be quiet because you were too loud, to not believe in such “ridiculous” things and so forth. It’s time to tap into your inner “cool kid.”

Your authentic self is screaming to be set free. Somewhat like a caged bird, trapped without a key. Singing a melody of a song of how it would like to be free. I want you to realize that your "key" to freedom is right there inside of you. Stop being afraid to follow your heart. If you want something, go after it. If you like something or someone say something. If you feel stuck at your job, it’s time for you to leave! Your passion is waiting on you. You want to move, but the idea scares the dickens out of you, move anyway. The relationship has gone sour because the abuse is more than you signed up for, get out!

Like the group Echosmith stated in their hit single, “Cool Kids” when you abandon your authentic self it’s like driving “in the fast lane, living life without knowing.”

Being authentic is about knowing who you are, knowing that your time to be happy is right now. There is no better time than now to pursue your dreams, to find your true love, to tap into your full potential and to be all that you were destined to be. That’s what you call being a “cool kid!”

  • Be Dream Hungry

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to being hungry. Hungry for your dreams! I want you to be so hungry that it feels like your livelihood depends on it. Why you may ask? See, your dreams are what gives your life purpose. We have been put on this earth for a purpose. The heartbeat in your chest is purpose. The air in your lungs is purpose. The essence of you well that's called purpose.

Oftentimes, we have the tendency to feel inadequate about pushing forward with our dreams. The first being fear. We have the fear of if we fail. We have the fear of not knowing where to start. We essentially have a fear of being great. However, when you get hungry enough, the fear will subside. Your dreams will transform into your means of survival. And guess what? When you are trying to survive, you will figure it out because no one wants to starve.

Just like a soon-to-be mother. She doesn’t know how to be a mother just yet. She may have an idea, but she doesn’t know exactly what it will take. Nonetheless, she figures it out just as time goes on. And you should treat your dreams the same way.

Rapper Ace Hood gives excellent advice in his hit single, “Hustle Hard” when it comes to being dream hungry. All you have to do is, “hustle, hustle, hustle, hard.

Closed mouths don't get fed on this boulevard.” Catch it! Look. No one is going to want your dream more than you, so you gotta get hungry!

    I’m hungry, what about you?

  • You Can't Tell Me Nothing

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to self-assurance. Self-assurance is having confidence in yourself and your abilities. Now, I find more common times than not, that many people are willing to count themselves out of an opportunity before even trying. Why is that? Is it because we are afraid of an opposition that is in front of us? I cannot stress it enough that in every OPP-osition, there’s an OPP-ortunity. However, the minute we choose not to try, we rob ourselves of success. Each time you “fail,” you discover how not to do something. Or perhaps you discover a better way of doing something. Either way, you learn SOMETHING!

Furthermore, if it’s not us talking ourselves out of an opportunity, we are allowing someone else to do that. And you know in the heart of heart what you want and how dare you let someone else dictate your abilities? So, the next time someone comes to speak “death” into your life, I want you to get like Kanye did in his hit song, "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and say, “Excuse me, is you sayin’ somethin’? Uh-uh, you can’t tell me nothin’!”

Alright, that's it for your dose of "Vitamin D." Be sure to follow me on all social media @DawnDaiSpeaks and until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset!"
