Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to doubt. It’s time to get rid of the doubt in your life. We’re all guilty of doubting our abilities at some point or another, but how did it serve you? Doubt causes you to stay in limbo. Doubt is a decision that doesn’t serve in the betterment of you. Doubt steals your joy. It robs you of your hope.
Hope is a very powerful word. Hope is having the expectation, the desire for something to happen. Hope is the fuel that drives your purpose. Hope wakes you up every morning. You have to hope that going to work, you will get a paycheck. You have to hope that working out, you will drop some extra pounds. You have to hope that if you stay faithful in your relationship things will work out. Yes, that is hope.
It’s time to realign yourself so that you can be the best that you can be. Chuck the deuces to the days when you allowed doubt to drive your life. As India.Arie once stated in her song, “There’s hope. It doesn’t cost a thing to smile; you don’t have to pay to laugh. You better thank God for that.”
Got hope?
That's it for your dose of Vitamin D. Be sure to follow me on all social media @DawnDaiSpeaks and until next time, always remember, "you are your greatest asset!"

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to getting rid of the “monster” inside of your head. That voice that tells you that you are not good enough, attractive enough and/or smart enough. It’s the voice that preys on you in your darkest hour stating that you are not worthy of attaining everything your heart desires. Where does it come from? It comes from what you allow yourself to be subjected to. Whether it is a person, place, thing…or in this case YOURSELF!
In the hit single, “The Monster,” rapper Eminem states, “I need an interventionist to intervene between me and this monster, and save me from myself and all this conflict.” Yes, we’ve all felt that way at some point in our life. Like we’re screaming and no one can hear us. Like we’re visible, but no one can see us. Heck, I probably even felt like that this week. Questioning if I made the right choice to even move to LA to pursue my dreams. I had to check myself and say, “Yes you did! I wouldn't be sitting here right here Vitamin D in studio E. "Dawn, this is what you said you wanted to do years ago when you first graduated college.” Heck, when you were still in High School and guess what? I did it and I'm doing it!
The opportunity presented itself to me and I seized it. I seized it because that's what life is about. It's about creating possibilities. It's about getting out of your own way and taking chances. Are you ready to take the chance? Stop looking for an easy route by allowing negative thoughts in your head like, “I don’t want to be a failure.” Well, I have a news flash for you...failure isn’t a person. Failure is an experience. An experience that you learn and grow and you mentally get fit from.
So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and take a chance! Tick tock.

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to worry. Let’s think about it, what has worrying, ever gotten you in life? Did it save that trying relationship you were in? Did it propel you to succeed in your job's upcoming presentation? Or better yet, did it aid you to become the better person you are today? Chances are it didn’t...so STOP! Stop driving yourself crazy!
Many people are under the misconception that worrying propels change. A well-known saying goes "worrying is a negative form of worship." See, worrying immobilizes you. It tenses your body and causes you to wreck your brain, which can ultimately lead you into a form of depression; a state that will not allow you to propel forward in life. It’s like a hamster running around on a wheel expecting to escape from its cage. After running for 5 minutes straight, the hamster is in the same spot it started in. Are you surprised? Is that hamster you?
Don't let that be you. Instead, I charge you to drop worrying at the wayside. Figure out how you can change the state you are in by taking a look at your past and future to figure out which direction you want to go in.
Mobilize your mind, your body and your soul so that you can attain anything you want out of life. Swedish House Mafia said it best in their hit song, "Don't You Worry Child," "don't you worry, don't worry child...see heaven's got a plan for you." What's your plan? What are your dreams? What do you desire?
Now GO get it!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to doing the inner work. The kind of work that takes time, takes courage and requires self love. It’s the kind of work that may involve you falling down to your knees, shedding a few tears and shutting out the noise from the rest of the world. As humans, we are so quick to want to ‘change’ in order to meet someone else’s standards, but we’re unsure of what we stand for ourselves. Damn what other people have to say and what other people believe! What do you believe? Who do you say you are? What do you stand for?
In Beyoncé’s hit song, “Pretty Hurts,” she gets to the heart of the matter. We all desire to be happy, and sometimes it’s by any means necessary. Whether it’s a ‘nip/tuck’ or popping a pill, we’re constantly trying to escape reality in hopes of creating some ‘perfect’ illusion. Constantly trying to “shine the light on whatever’s worse. Tryna fix, but you can’t see. It’s the soul that needs the surgery.” Failing to realize there “ain’t no doctor or therapeutic that can take the pain away. The pain’s inside.” So it’s time to do the work!
The first step is to declare the love that you have for yourself. If you need to cry, you cry. If you need to scream, you scream. Take a pen and write it down if you have to. If you have to exclude yourself from certain people and certain situations, you do that. That’s what I call "putting in the work!"
So the next time someone asks you if you’re happy with yourself, let the answer be, "yes!" You are be-YOU-tiful!

Today’s dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to setting the caged bird free! You may be wondering who is the caged bird that I speak of? Well, honey, that caged bird could be you. A bird feeling caged without a key. Trapped behind “bars” of depression, obesity, fear of sexual orientation and anything else that prohibits you from soaring to new heights. While everyone may see you smiling on the outside, they have no idea of how you feel on the inside. They may not realize that through your smile, you cry.
In “Caged Bird” Alicia Keys states, “I know why the caged bird sings, only joy comes from song.” Regardless of your “physical restrictions,” whether coerced by society or even your own self, you still have the ability to sing your own unique song. See that is the one thing that makes the “caged bird” so special...its ability to sing. So what is your song? Your song is anything that makes you feel joy. I didn’t say what makes everyone else feel joy, I said anything that makes YOU feel joy. In order to live an abundant life, you cannot be anything shy of residing in joy. I think you're worthy of joy, don’t you?
Now go claim your song! Being who you are makes you beautiful!
Find the key within yourself to set yourself free for the whole world to see. Just fly…fly as high as you can fly!
“Spread your wings, spread your beauty….”

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to “noise.” It’s time to block the unnecessary “noise” in your life. Noise causes confusion. Noise distracts you. Too much noise can be deafening. Doubt is noise. Ridicule is noise. Anything that doesn’t serve in the betterment of you is noise.
Think of a time in your life when you’ve allowed worry to take over your mind. Whether it’s waiting for test results, future bill payments or wondering if your dreams and aspirations are going to come to fruition. The noise of doubt and confusion cloud your mind, yet it doesn’t change your current circumstances. So you must block it. Even the people nearest and dearest to our hearts tell us what we can and cannot do. Spewing loads of negativity, or for lack of better terms "noise," of what they deem as acceptable. However, at the end of the day you have to do you boo. Doing you is what makes you…you! No one else can be you.
From now on you’re going to block all the ridicule, backlash and insecurity life throws at you. Take note from Naughty Boy’s hit single, “La La La” and say, “I'm covering my ears like a kid. When your words mean nothing, I go la la la. I'm turning up the volume when you speak. 'Cause if my heart can't stop it, I find a way to block it.” Catch it!
Or simply put your hand up and say, “not today, tonight or tomorrow. Buh-bye!”
