Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to that “next step.” Have you felt or are you feeling like your back is up against the wall? Feeling as though you want to scream, because you’re unsure of what your next step is? It’s frustrating, it’s annoying and no one seems to have the answer for you. Be steadfast, your breakthrough is coming.
As the saying goes, pressure makes diamonds and diamonds are meant to shine. The moment you have to ask yourself, "what now?” means that you are on the brink of stepping into the next chapter of your life. You are cognitively seeking more in your life. Know that what you are experiencing is just temporary. Your "what now" attitude is the attitude that you need to take the respective area of your life to the next level.
In the hit single, “What Now,” Rihanna belts, “What now? I just can't figure it out. What now? I guess I'll just wait it out,” as should you.
Just hold on, your breakthrough is coming. As soon as you are ready, you will be well aware of your next move. Even if it means taking a risk, that risk will be well worth it. Right now you’re just in a holding space until you are mentally and physically equipped for the next ride of your life.
Buckle up!

On this episode of Vitamin D with Dawn Dai, Dawn talks “what's happenin'” in public conversation and on social media. Mark Zuckerberg announces the collaboration with Ray-Ban to unveil glasses that can capture video and photos. Normani's VMA performance with Teyana Taylor was hot and steamy, but why didn't it receive the same backlash as Lil Nas X's BET performance? Russell Westbrook wore a kilt for New York Fashion Week and his basketball colleague, Kwame Brown, had something to say about it.

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to keep on, keepin’ on. In life, there are moments when you may feel that your back is up against the wall. Moments where you may feel like life has tried every last nerve in your body, that you realize the only way out is to keep pressing forward. See, the moment we decide to wallow in our discomfort, we become stagnant. We become stuck. We lose our ability to move, especially when it seems that we are on our last leg. No one promised that life was going to be easy, but choosing to keep on, keepin’ on oh it will definitely be worth it.
You know, some may look at my life and say, “You didn’t get accepted into Howard? How did you get a scholarship, graduate with honors and host your graduation?” “Oh Dawn, You moved to New York on a 3-month fellowship as a job? How did you last 5 years and get an article in New York Times? “Dawn, you watched your mother take her last breath? How did you get through that?” My answer to it all is that you have to keep on, keepin’ on. You can’t allow life to happen to you, you must happen to life. You must keep your eyes on the prize. More times than not we have the tendency to focus on the obstacles in our journey, rather than focus the purpose of our journey. Some of us get caught up in trying to survive, that we actually forget to live. I want you to live your life. Live your life on purpose and for a purpose.
In Jill Scott’s hit single, “I Keep,” the sultry diva expresses that no matter what obstacles come your way you must “keep moving forward, pressing onward, striving further… keep on laughing, keep on living, keep on loving… keep on dreaming keep on achieving, keep on believing…keep smiling when [you] come through ...cry when [you] need to.” You see how simple that is? Life wasn’t meant to be easy, but it will definitely be worth it as long as you keep on, keepin’ on!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to being exactly who you are. Who is that? Well, that’s not for me to answer. I will say that it’s the person you are when you feel the most free. Who you are when you’re not trying to belong. In today’s society, trying to be someone and/or something seems like the innate thing to do. Often times we give up on who we are, just so that we can be accepted. Why is that?
I’d rather have someone dislike me for who I am, rather than like me for who I’m not. It’s too much of a burden to bear to try to measure up to someone else’s standards. The truth of the matter is, you will never meet “the mark.” You can keep bending to appease others, but you’ll find in the end that it is you who will break.
In the hit song, “Try,” songstress Colbie Caillat stresses that “you don’t have to try so hard” to be who you are. Being who you are should be second nature, fluid, because it’s YOU. It’s you with the scars, your hair, your quirkiness, extra pounds…it’s ALL YOU! Why care what other people think of you? The question stands when you’re all alone…DO YOU LIKE YOU?

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to letting it all out. What are you holding on to? Some of us have the tendency to hold on to feelings that are literally eating us alive. Afraid to express how we truly feel because we don’t want to offend someone else. Not realizing that with each day, hour, minute, second it eats at us alive. Whether it is a situation that you don’t agree with, death of a loved one, or not standing up for yourself. It’s time for you to express yourself.
You have every right to feel what ever it is that you feel. Now, instead of sitting back and acting as if “mums the word,” let it out! You pretending like a situation or a person has not affected you doesn’t resolve your discontentment. Instead, you’re driving yourself crazy…like literally! We are creatures created to express ourselves, so stop cutting off your oxygen!
From today on, I charge you to get like will.i.am and, “scream and shout, and let it out.” After all, freedom of expression is your right. Whether the whole world hears, or just you in the privacy of your own room. Feel what you need to feel and release it. Feelings are meant to be felt. I dare you to feel them, embrace them and heal yourself.
That's it for your dose of Vitamin D. Be sure to follow me on all social media @DawnDaiSpeaks and always remember, "you are your greatest asset!"

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to getting back in the game, the game of life. Unlike most games, in the game of life, it is you who makes up the rules. You create your own obstacles and it is you who creates your own victories. It’s important to realize that in this game, you are your greatest asset and that you are your only competition. So what are you doing looking at the next “man?” What are you doing comparing your victories and your “loses,” with the next individual? Most importantly, what are you doing to make yourself a better person?
While no one truly knows when their game will end, we all know where it starts. It starts now. While you may feel like you’re walking in the darkness, it is your beating heart that is guiding you. Follow it. Follow your passion. Tap into your purpose. People are going to try to influence your next move, don’t let them. They might try to mock your ambitions, ignore them. Just focus on playing YOUR game.
And just like in the hit single, “Wake Me Up” by Avicii, you must always remember “life's a game made for everyone and love is the prize.”
Follow your heart. Got love?

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to your peace of mind. No worries, no fears and no stress. It’s not a matter of them taking a hold on your life; it’s a matter of you holding on to them with your life. Did you catch that? Havoc is conjured by what’s going on in the inside. It’s the stories that we create in our mind about ourselves, about other people and about the situations we are involved in. It’s so easy to become a prisoner to our own thoughts, but I’m here to tell you it’s time to break free.
When it comes to life there will ALWAYS be something. The key is accepting whatever it is for exactly what it is and then immediately releasing it so that you can move on. For example, are you having trouble with your weight? Accept the fact that you have to lose a few pounds and then let go of any negative thoughts surrounding it by eating healthier and start exercising. That’s the formula for overcoming any situation, any obstacle and any person that doesn’t belong in your life. Accept it for what it is, and then take the necessary steps to change it.
Just how pop songstress, Ariana Grande belts in her hit single, “Break Free” that she wants to release herself from the chaos in her life. I want you to do exactly the same. Get out of your own head and remind yourself that, “this is the part when I say I don't want [it]. I'm stronger than I've been before. This is the part when I break free, because I can't resist it no more.”
Go ahead and free yourself. From now on, you are free!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to staying in the game. Realizing the story isn’t in the destination but in the journey. No one said the journey was going to be easy, but there is no doubt in my mind that it will be worth it. Things worth having are worth fighting for. You have relationships, dreams, goals and etc. that you must not give up on because they are all a part of you. Do not allow fear to hold you back from them, create distance between you or convince you that you aren’t good enough. You are good enough because you ARE enough. You must realize that with all of your being, you must want whatever it is out of life just as bad as you want to breathe. Your happiness is the key to your survival. Do not rob yourself of that!
Fear simply put is false evidence appearing real. It is all an illusion. The moment you decide to step into your greatness, you will see that. You will find yourself running towards fear rather than away from it. It’s going to take guts. No need to worry about that, you already have it. The only concern you should have is keeping your eye on the “prize!” Just as Sia belts in Eminem’s song, “Guts Over Fear” you will “run out of excuses for everyone, [including yourself]. So here [you are] and you will not run.” You will steadfast and stay in the game because you have guts over fear!
