Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to right now. Not last year, yesterday, tomorrow or next year. This moment is all that you have and all that you are. This is your moment to be, to do, to feel…whatever it is that you need. However, it's going to take courage, it takes heart and it definitely takes passion. You may be scared. You may be happy. You may even feel all alone. And the list can go on and on, but the point is this is your moment. And what are you doing with it?
Like R&B crooner Jeremih stated, “life ain’t promised tomorrow, live it up, live it up, live it up. Be a fool to come this far and give it up, give it up, give it up.”
So what’s up? Are you ready to do this? Ready to be great? Ready to be amazing? Yes, you are! This is your moment. It doesn’t matter where you are, who you are, where you come from or what you look like. Your moment is right now. The best thing about starting from the bottom is that you can see the top. Hey!

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to faith. You got faith? Do you really know what faith is or what does faith mean to you? They say faith is the belief in things hoped for and the certainty of things not seen. It takes a lot of faith to go after your dreams. Because going after your dreams, you're not going to see exactly what it is that you're going after. But you know you gotta put one foot in front of the other. One foot in front of the other. What is it? Financial? You're trying to lose some weight? I'm praying for you if you're sick. Whatever it is that gets you in the dark, you're going to get through it. You know, I'm not really one to be a firm believer or I shouldn't say I've never been one to follow the Bible verbatim. But I've seen how the scriptures have definitely been speaking to me and it's right on time and I'm a believer that you eat the meat and you spit out the bone.
And a scripture that has stood out in my meditation has been Psalm 23:4 and it says, "even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil." And I look at some of the circumstances that we go through in life. And how we look like there's no way out. And we talk about the valleys that's the low of the low between two lands. Two highlands, so think of like a hill like mountain and you're in the valley so that's the lowest part. In the shadow of death. So death is already dark, but this is the shadow, so this is the blacketyist of the black dark. It's cold. There's animals. You hear things. You don't know what's going on. Perhaps maybe how you feel right now. And God is like "fear no evil because I'm right there with you." And then you're looking around. You say "God, well where are you?" Well, remember what faith is. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. The evidence of things unseen. That's what God is. He said "For my rod and my staff will comfort you." You said, "Well, where is it?" Well, it's in the word. Because that's what God said. And remember it says, "At first it was the word. The word was with God and the word is God." You gotta stand on that faith yo.
And what I love about the scripture too is because there are all these stories and no matter what we're going through, but it's to let you know that you can get through it too. Because if somebody can get through the valley of the shadow of death and still fear no evil, what can go against you when you got God right beside you? So I want you to keep going, OK? Don't you give up. I believe in you. You just gotta put one foot in front of the other, OK? Hold on to your faith. Remember, it's the substance of things hoped for. It's the evidence of things unseen. You got faith?

Today's dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to being a soldier. A soldier for life. What war are you facing? Depression? Bill? Health issues? Relationship problems? What is it? You're probably feeling like you're in the wild Wild West or something. Shucking and dodging these so-called "bullets" of life. Just trying to stay alive. Try to hold on to your peace. Hold on to your sanity. Hold on to your last nerve. And I need you to keep doing just that. Hold on. As a soldier, it's not just about surviving, it's about thriving. Look, we all go through things, but as they say, you can't fail if you don't quit. If the doctor is not giving you an answer you feel comfortable with, find another one. Are you feeling depressed? Start working out, meditate, journal, do whatever it is that you have to do, but just don't quit.
In the hit track "Soldier of Love" Sade belts, "I am lost, but I don't doubt. Tall I ride, I have he will to survive in the wild, wild west." Do you have the will to survive in your wild, wild west? Better yet, let me ask you this. What do you want? Because when you want something, you don't stop until you get it. Sade says, "I'm at the borderline of my faith. I'm at the hinterland of my devotion. The front line of this battle of mine, but I'm still alive" and so are you. Now what are you going to do about it?

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to casting fear to the wayside. Fear is false evidence appearing real. It is the very state that paralyzes us. It strips us from our ability to move. It causes us to get "stuck." Stuck in the sense that it inhibits us from reaching our true potential.
Learn to appreciate fear. Fear will guide you in the direction in where you need to grow. We’ve been conditioned to rebuke fear, however, I encourage you to run through fear and surpass it. In the song “Not Afraid” by Eminem he belts, “…I just can't keep living this way. So starting today, I'm breaking out of this cage. I'm standing up, I'ma face my demons.”
So what do you say? Are you ready to conquer your fears? It all starts with one step. Let’s do this together because, “I'ma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly.”
It’s time for you to take that leap of faith and say “Fear, you ain’t got nothing on me!”

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to focusing on your dreams. Life is filled with many distractions, but we must keep our eyes on the prize. Understand that distractions only bring about temporary satisfaction. Working at a job you despise for 10 years, because you were told you would a receive $30,000 bonus? Distraction. Staying in an abusive relationship because of the comfort of not feeling alone? Distraction. Or how about taking one more hit of a drug, because you want to release that pain? Distraction. So, what happens when it’s all said and done? Is the void you were trying to fill gone? No!
Focus on your dreams, because that’s where true happiness lies. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but it absolutely will be worth it. If it’s the money, it will come. Not wanting to feel alone, the right person will stand by your side. The need of drugs will subside because the action of you getting closer to your dreams will take you on high that you could only imagine.
In the single, “Counting Stars,” OneRepublic hit the nail on the head stating “no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars.” Tonight, look into the sky and count every star with your dream on it. Notice how in the midst of darkness that they manage to twinkle in the sky. Count the stars. Your dream is “up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky.”
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to perseverance. Look, challenges are going to constantly come your way, day in and day out. However, you are a SURVIVOR! You will conquer, you will make it through but the key is to not give up!
You know in 2001, the lovely ladies of Destiny’s Child charted their hit single, “Survivor” with that same mindset. The trio belted, “I'm a survivor, I'm not gon’ give up, I'm not gon’ stop, I'm gon’ work harder. I'm a survivor, I'm gonna make it, I will survive, keep on survivin'.”
I said it before and I'mma say it again, you were not genetically designed to give up. You were designed to live a purposeful life, a life that’s worth living happily. So whether it’s attaining your dream job, mending a broken relationship or shedding a few extra pounds…you can do it! Now, no one said it was going to be easy, but if you choose to not give up you will survive through it!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to the winner that resides in you. The common misconception about a winner is that they never lose. A winner does lose, but each time they “lose” they see it as an opportunity to win again. I want you to win, but in order to win you must never give up. You have to go hard for what you want. As they say, “you gotta go hard in the paint.” When you go hard your "nays" will become "yays."
In the hit single, “Fly” Rihanna belts, “I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive. I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise.” You know, when I applied to Howard University I did not get in. I did not get accepted. Now, I could have used that “nay” as an opportunity to give up and walk away. However, I turned my “nay” into a “yay” by appealing their decision and I got accepted. Not only did I get accepted, but I also graduated with honors and hosted my graduation. How’s that for being a winner?
See, we are all winners. The moment you were conceived you were chosen to be a winner. There could have been millions of other beings that could have taken your place, but it was YOU that was chosen.
Now say it with me, “I came to WIN!”
