"Stone Heart" Weirs Undergo Repairs

How do you fix a broken heart?

Call in the experts!

Heart-shaped fishing traps in Penghu were broken after a storm last year.

The "Twin Hearts Stone Weir" (雙心石滬) is built out of stones and coral reefs.

It's a traditional trap for catching fish.

The walls of the trap are shaped like two hearts on top of each other.

During high tide (漲潮), fish swim into the trap with the seawater.

And when water levels fall, the fish are trapped (受困) inside the hearts.

Many people visit Penghu to see the weirs each year.

But last year, a big storm broke parts of the weir.

Fixing stone weirs is a special traditional skill.

So Penghu invited 10 weir experts to help fix the traps.

"雙心石滬"受損倒塌，澎湖縣政府請10位石滬老師傅緊急進行修護。

Officials say the first three days were the hardest.

The experts had to find big stones that could be the weir's foundation (地基).

The stones had to be long, heavy, and a triangular shape (三角形狀).

Each of these stones were carried to the weir.

Then the experts placed them at special angles (角度).

It was a lot of hard work!

Officials thanked the experts for helping to preserve "precious cultural heritage".

烏克蘭軍犬的新使命

New Life for Ukraine Military Dog

A four-legged hero is getting a new start on life.

Rambo, the German shepherd worked with Ukrainian soldiers fighting Russia.

The 3-year-old dog went with soldiers to the front line (前線) in Ukraine.

But he was badly hurt in a rocket attack.

藍波曾經陪著烏克蘭士兵在前線作戰，但在烏東城市遭到火箭攻擊，導致嚴重受傷。

The explosion tore up the right side of Rambo's head.

He lost parts of his skull (頭骨), his jaw (下顎) and one ear.

People who helped him weren't sure if he would live.

Rambo went through emergency surgery.

And he slowly got better.

Now, he has a new life.

Rambo is training to help police in Hungary.

He is learning how to work with children, older people, and people with disabilities (身心障礙者).

Rambo will help demonstrate (示範) how police dogs work.

Officers say Rambo is happy and really likes children.

Rambo looks different from other dogs, and only has one ear.

But he can still live a full life, and help people.

Officers hope Rambo can help people learn to respect each other's differences.

And they hope people who meet Rambo can remember to be kind and accept each other.

Hollywood's Summer Blockbusters Delayed

Can't wait for this summer's blockbuster movies?

Well, you just might have to wait a little longer.

Some of the biggest movies of the summer will now be released later.

許多暑假大片都宣布延後上映檔期。

Avatar 3 will now be out a year later, in 2025.

Two Star Wars movies will now be out in theaters in 2026.

And "Avengers: Kang Dynasty" is being pushed from 2025 to 2026.

Some movie producers say they need more time to finish the movies.

But some believe that an ongoing strike by writers in Hollywood is causing the delays (延遲).

Groups of writers working in Hollywood are on strike (罷工).

They are asking for a pay system that they say is more fair.

And they are asking for new rules about using AI.
