WHY and how the narcissist mask slips (The Psychology of Malignant Narcissist Mask Drops) Narcissist False Self: When the Mask Slips - When you first meet a narcissist, you often see only the false self. The narcissist may spend hours talking about themselves, what they have accomplished, their disregard for others, their contempt for those that oppose them, and their plans for the future. At such times they can be extremely entertaining, even charismatic. It is easy to see how they can capture your heart and mind. You see a person who is brimming over with confidence and success. They exchange gifts and favors with you. They do not hesitate in helping people in trouble if it will advance their cause. This is the false self.

What if the mask didn't slip? What if the narcissist was never really wearing a mask in the first place? What if he's been that way all along, even as a child? In this video, I explore the idea of what makes up a 'false self' and why this theory can be so damaging to victims.
