Why do narcs smear campaign? Do they ever "fake" it to hurt you? Narcissistic Abuse Recovery FAQ

Today, I'm answering a viewer question from Rachel Campbell, a member of SPAN (Support for People Affected by Narcissistic abuse in relationships), my free online support group for survivors of narcissistic abuse in toxic relationships - learn more and join at http://queenbeeing.com/span.

Rachel explains what she's dealing with in her own narcissistic abuse "aftermath," in which her ex appears to be smear campaigning her to his family and potentially their mutual friends.

She wants to know whether he might have lied to her about having smear campaigned her to his mother. I'll answer Rachel's question today in this morning coffee vlog.

What we don't know: if the ex has a narcissistic mother, there could be a deeper level of manipulation happening. Toxic people with NPD and other cluster b personality disorders are extremely abusive to their primary sources of narcissistic supply - but they're also fine with gaslighting and brainwashing "secondary" sources of supply. In this case, Rachel may be dealing with a little of both.
