1. A heavy police presence remains on Milwaukee's north side right now. We know one person is dead after a shooting and a police officer is hurt. The Medical Examiner tells WTMJ they were called to the area of 49th and Mill Road. At one point this morning, you could see numerous police squads, an ambulance, and a crowd gathering. Police sources tell WTMJ an off-duty police officer was driving into work when the suspect cut him off and pulled in front of him. The suspect then got out of his car and pistol-whipped the officer in the head. Our sources say the off-duty police officer then drew his weapon and that's when the suspect started shooting at him. The officer then shot the suspect, killing him. The officer is currently being treated at the hospital for his injuries.

2. President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois is facing scrutiny at a pivotal court hearing today, hours after a small number of Texas Guard members started protecting federal property in the Chicago area. U.S. District Judge April Perry is hearing arguments on a request to block the deployment of members of the Illinois and Texas National Guards while a lawsuit challenging the move proceeds. The city and state both filed lawsuits to stop the deployments, calling them unnecessary and illegal. Troops have been asked to protect the ICE facility in Broadview and the district courthouse in Chicago. The Commander says the troops will help protect federal agents at the two sites ahead of two high-profile legal cases involving the Department of Homeland Security Friday.

3. Embrace the Challenge! That's the message from the Milwaukee Brewers today, as the series just got more interesting. The Brewers head into Game Four of the NLDS tonight, after failing to sweep the series. Milwaukee lost 4-3 in Chicago yesterday. Tonight's game is also at Wrigley Field, with first pitch set for 8:08pm. Here in Milwaukee, there's a watch party tonight at the Barrel Yard inside Am Fam Field. Bernie Brewer, Barrelman, the Famous Racing Sausages, and the 4-1-FORCE will be at the Barrel Yard tonight, as well. The Brewers have also teamed up with a handful of bars across the state for giveaways during the game.

An arrest has been made in relation to the deadly Palisades Fire that destroyed thousands of homes and businesses and burned more than 23,000 acres in California. 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht will make his initial court appearance today, but not in California. Rinderknecht is charged with Destruction of property by means of fire punishable by 5-20 years in Federal Prison. The Palisades wildfire is the ninth deadliest wildfire in state history, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

1. National Guard Troops deployed to Chicago could begin their assignments as early as today. Members of the Texas National Guard arrived in Illinois yesterday. They were seen at an Army Center in Elwood, about 50 miles southwest of Chicago. Chicago's mayor says the Trump administration has not told him how or where they'll use the troops. In fact, Mayor Brandon Johnson says there's been no communication. The city of Chicago and the state of Illinois filed a lawsuit on Monday against the National Guard deployment. They're waiting on a decision right now. That federal court hearing is tomorrow. We should also note Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says he anticipates National Guard Troops will be sent to his state at some point. In June, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers signed a letter speaking out against deployments like this. Evers called it an alarming abuse of power.

2. Maybe the National Guard troops will catch the Brewers, Cubs game this afternoon. The Brewers go for a series sweep of the Cubs this afternoon at Wrigley Field. The last time the Brewers played at Wrigley, Quinn Priester's grandma dropped off her famous chocolate chip oatmeal cookies for the team. Priester, the Illinois native, will start for the Brewers today. Temperatures expected to be in the low 60's at first pitch, scheduled for 4:08pm.

3. A new study reveals a specific type of breast cancer has doubled since 1975. The study shows lobular breast cancer now impacts one in ten women diagnosed. The increase may be due in part to changes in risk factors like obesity and lifestyle, but Dr. Narula says these cancers are also hormonally sensitive. As always, it's important to know your family history, get regular exams and recognize any changes.
