1. It's showtime in primetime! The Milwaukee Brewers take on the Chicago Cubs tonight in Game 2 of the National League Division Series. Milwaukee leads the series, one-nothing, after Saturday's win at home. First pitch tonight is 8:08. It's a late one. We're going to have tired Brewers fans tomorrow. Aaron Ashby is tonight's starting pitcher.

2. The New York Post reports former NY Jets Quarterback, Mark Sanchez is out of the hospital, and in jail after a drunken fight with a truck driver in Indianapolis over the weekend. Sanchez was in town to call Sunday's NFL game between the Raiders and Colts, the game happened, but Sanchez was recovering in a hospital. Sanchez is now facing multiple criminal misdemeanor charges, including battery resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.

3. The U.S. Supreme Court started its new session today. The new term could be a test to see if the Justices decide to limit President Trump's presidential power. Cases about tariffs and the firing of federal employees are on the docket. Cases regarding L-G-B-T-Q issues will also be heard.

1. Day Three of the government shutdown. The Trump administration has signaled thousands of government layoffs could start as soon as today. The Senate took up competing spending bills this afternoon to try to re-open the government. Meanwhile, President Trump is sharpening his threats of mass layoffs and program cuts. In fact, he posted a video to Truth Social depicting a key White House aid as "The Grim Reaper." It's an AI-generated video. They changed the song to say Russ Vought is the reaper. Vought is the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

2. The penny continues to die a slow death, and one major Wisconsin gas station chain is acknowledging that fact. Kwik Trip says that it will begin rounding down cash purchases to the nearest five cents in a push to go penny-free. The move comes after the U.S. Department of Treasury announced earlier this year that it would stop producing pennies. The one-cent coins actually cost four cents to produce, and the U.S. stands to save $56 million by no longer minting them. The final order for penny blanks was placed in May 2025, with the Mint expected to complete production of these pennies by early 2026. Back to Kwik Trip, customers will still be able to pay with pennies for as long as the coins remain legal tender, and digital and card-based purchases will be unaffected by the change.

ABC News Correspondent Jim Ryan talks about how a fundraising group that accepted donations of vehicles on the promise that proceeds would pay for breast cancer screenings for low-income women has agreed to pay a $3.8 million fine levied by the Federal Trade Commission. A complaint filed by 19 states alleges that Kars-R-Us.com solicited donations using deceptive advertising and then forwarded only a fraction of the funds to breast cancer patients.

IIHS Senior Transportation Research Engineer Wen Hu talks about whether red light cameras actually help make roads safer and what errors the cameras can make.

1. At this time tomorrow, the first pitch will be happening! Brewers playoff baseball is back in Milwaukee. The Brew Crew opens the National League Division Series at American Family Field at 1:08 tomorrow. A limited number of tickets were just released from team allotments. Go online or call the box office to see if you can snatch one up. Then on Monday, we have a night game and it's a late one, at 8:08. So, two games here in Milwaukee, then it's off to Chicago for the team. In fact, The Brewers just announced a fun way to send off fans in style, on the "Brewers Express" as they're calling it. Also known as the Hiawatha AMTRAK train. Watch parties are planned as well, including one at Davidson Park on the Harley-Davidson campus.

2. Fallout continues in Des Moines, Iowa, following the arrest of the city's school superintendent by ICE agents. The Public Schools board of the state's largest city has filed a lawsuit against a consulting firm it hired to find a new superintendent. Roberts was considered an ICE fugitive because he was subject to a final removal order issued in 2024.

ICE said that it targeted Roberts for arrest by initiating a traffic stop last week Friday while he was driving in his school-issued vehicle. After he fled, officers discovered his vehicle abandoned near a wooded area, then later located Roberts. He is still in custody as of this morning.

3. Sentencing is underway for music mogul Sean Diddy Combs. Earlier this year, Combs was acquitted of the most serious charges against him related to racketeering and sex trafficking. But he was convicted on prostitution charges. Prosecutors are asking for 11 years in prison. Combs and his legal team are asking for time served as Combs has already been in prison for a year.
