Xtreme Performance Outdoor Network

H.R. 5017 is a Trojan Horse anti hunting, anti working dog bill that is threatening the entire working dog world in the United States.

Chris is joined by Seth Hall, long time Houndsman XP Team member and resident expert on sighthounds, grey hounds and coursing dogs to dig deep into this most recent attack by those who advocate for control more than freedom. Chris and Seth go through the entire bill, line by line and rip it apart.

Steve Biggerstaff and Clayton Black join us in this episode of the Houndsman XP Podcast.

This episode was recorded live on the show floor from the Safari Club International 2026 Convention. It is the type of conversation that we always strive to create but seldom achieved. It is Houndsmen Gold: dog talk, hunting big cats in tough conditions unrehearsed and straight talk.

This last episode of the Falconry Chronicles podcast ends on another great note. As stated in his first episode, Dr. Ken Riddle comes back to detail and highlight other important memories, as well as clarify and further detail other recollections that were covered previously. This is another truly special episode that details certain aspects of falconry in the Middle East that nobody would be able to do justice to describing unless they lived it. I'm very happy and thankful that Ken agreed to do this follow up, and I'm glad they'll be preserved forever.

As promised, all of my episode files have been given to The Archives of Falconry for safekeeping and preservation. Unless another source of funding comes up in the future or the demand for the podcast returns, this will conclude my podcast efforts. I hope that the endeavor has been worthwhile and current and future generations will be able to listen back to these stories and conversations from falconers all over the world and benefit from them for years to come. For those who have helped me along the way these past seven years, thank you again. I can't say enough that it takes all of us to sustain falconry and everything that comes with it, so I hope if nothing else, these episodes will continue to help in some way.

On that note, I wish you all success in your hawking and your own future endeavors, and in the words of some great falconers and people in general, I hope you keep striving for greatness and to leave falconry and the world a better place than you left it.

Happy Hawking!

This episode is potentially the second-to-last episode for Falconry Chronicles, and it's a great one! Nicole Perretta joins us remotely to talk hawking challenges where she's from in California, and of course, plenty of observations and conversation about accipiters! This episode and next week's final episode for the foreseeable future, and possibly forever, are ones you won't want to miss, and I'm happy to be able to get them out to you!

LW Nixon of Cajun Lights-Cajun Outdoors is headed to the Winter Classic in Batesville, Mississippi. LW and Chris catch up and discuss the upcoming Winter Classic, hunting the Great Dismal Swamp and coastal North Carolina.

As Houndsmen we often overlook great historical land masses that are so crucial to our heritage and future as hunters. Folks from Coastal Carolina and eastern Virginia certainly know about the Great Dismal Swamp and its history. LW and Chris discuss this historical wild land of the coast.

Chris and LW also talk some product and service topics that will interest listeners such as what is coming from Cajun and the outdoor industry.

This remotely recorded episode features the creator of the Falconry Journal app, Tim Williams. Tim comes on to discuss his motivations for taking on the endeavor of creating the app, the different upgrades he's making to the app through offering the pro version, and how falconry is for him in northern California. This should be a good listen for current users of the Falconry Journal app, and for those of you who haven't used it, you should at least give it a trial. It's a great tool to have!
