If someone opts in through your affiliate link, should you continue to email them?

That's the question I got recently from an affiliate. Here's my answer.

Gundi Gabrielle asked this recently during Nick Stephenson's affiliate launch:   "quick question though, my current optins all come from the free Reader Magnets book. Obviously, they were signed up to an auto responder.
