It might be safe to say that expectations are the key (or the demise) of intimate relationships. If our relationship expectations are met, we're happy. If they're not, we're unhappy. So, what we expect is extremely important.
In this episode, Roy shares a talk given by Michael Singer (author of The Untethered Soul), where he points out that almost everyone expects that a relationship will meet their emotional needs. In fact, we believe that's the purpose of a relationship.
Michael shares that not only is that not true and that it doesn't work, but even more radically, he explains that we don't have psychological needs to begin with—it just feels like we do.
Unless your expectations of a relationship meet the reality of what a relationship can do, you'll forever experience drama and you'll never be happy in your love life.
Don't miss this chance to learn from one of the few enlightened teachers in the world today.
