In this week's episode we are talking all about what challenge sounds like in coaching. This is something we have found ourselves discussing with students in our ILM level 7 coaching programme and we thought it would be beneficial to discuss it here as well.

• how challenge can be discussed in the contracting stage of a coaching relationship
• what does challenge mean in a coaching environment
• why we challenge
• what your beliefs are as a coach about challenge
• how to seek permission to challenge
• the importance of your reflective practice
• challenge as a positive aspect of coaching

 

Often challenge can be difficult within coaching sessions but by exploring this during the contracting period, building strong rapport and seeking permission to share you can ensure that your coachee is getting what they want and need from your sessions.
