Do you still think that it’s possible to be a great coach and a great athlete at the same time? Do you still think that the best athletes write the best programs? You might want to give this episode a listen.
.
Michele Letendre has been wildly successful as a CrossFit Athlete, placing 4th in the world at the 2014 CrossFit Games and she is now wildly successful as a coach heping two of her clients (Laura Horvath and Patrick Vellner) to second place finishes at the 2018 CrossFit Games.
.
I have so much respect for both the type of competitor Michele was and the kind of coach that she is. When you mingle around in the Warm-up area at the CrossFit Games you can see which coaches are really invested in the success of their athletes. It’s in how they carry themselves, the laser focus they have, the way they fight back showing too much emotion when an athlete does well or poorly Michele exemplifies all of these characteristics.
.
In this episode Michele talks about why it’s exceedingly difficult to be a great athlete and a great coach at the same time. She talks about the emotional energy tied to both as well as the cognitive energy.
.
Michele also offers her opinion on the changes to the CrossFit Games and the lack of clarity around where things are going. You won’t want to miss it.
