Today we break down shin splints with biomedical mechanical engineer and Managing Director of Solushin, Ben Lindsay.
Ben is most well-know for co-developing the wearable medical device; The Solushin, designed to improve management of shin splints in runners. Ben is the current Managing Director and the expert when it comes to shin splints in runners.
In this episode we got to pick Ben's brain about what is actually going on when runners get shin pain and how we can better manage it. We talk about the pathophysiology of shin splints, breaking down anatomy of the lower leg and common signs to look out for. Ben talks on running biomechanics and risk factors for developing shin pain. We dispel some common myths as well as discuss the current evidence for best management, including strength training as well as some simple tests you can do at home.
We then get to hear all about Solushin and how it can help you manage your symptoms current or future and get you back to running as quickly as possible.
