Today I'm sharing some thoughts on and from Gabor Maté's book, Scattered Minds.
While many of us don't have ADD/ADHD, I think learning about psychology at any specificity can be helpful to anyone with a brain - especially if you choose to communicate with anyone who also has a brain. Basically, we're all lil weirdos who's brains crave and need attention + it gets a little tricky if we're not aware of the way we're asking for it.
I especially enjoyed the point the author made about the "deficit" in attention deficit disorder referring to the attention we're receiving, not the attention we're giving.
If you didn't know, Gabor Maté is truly a great educator and I aspire to communicate ideas as meaningfully and effectively as he can. Until then, I'll just encourage everyone to check out the other amazing work he does:
