This week on A Voice and Beyond we welcome the two brilliant voice teachers behind “The Mindfulness of Singing” – Dr Denise Bernardini and Toni Crowder. Between them, they have over fifty years of experience, teaching private voice lessons at a university level, as well as within their own private studios.
Dr Denise Bernardini is a sought-after clinician, teacher, presenter at many national and international voice conferences, and author. She holds a certification from the American Board of Neuro Linguistic Programming and has created her own coaching business helping all kinds of artists change their mindset, reach their goals and breakthrough their limiting beliefs.
Toni Crowder is a voice teacher, clinician and very talented singer song writer who has combined her training and background as a Music Educator, Music Therapist, certified YogaVoice® practitioner, and Yoga Alliance Registered yoga teacher to create an active and safe studio for her students.
In this week’s episode, they come together to talk about the various modalities they have studied, how they have combined and adapted these to create an innovative teaching program for singers and why they were inspired to write their number one bestselling book on Amazon, The Mindfulness of Singing; Creating a Harmonious Mind, Body, and Spirit™.
Toni and Denise share with us, that this book fulfils a dynamic niche in the explosive mindfulness market, and they speak about how a mindfulness practice can be applied in the teaching voice studio, the benefits of this practice for the student and the outstanding results they have achieved using a mindfulness practice with singers. There are many philosophical discussions had in this episode regarding vocal pedagogy and it is an episode you must be sure to listen to with Dr Denise Bernardini and Toni Crowder.
