In this episode I talk about why you need to stop counting yourself out of opportunities.
When we are looking for a new career or job role we often count ourselves out and we start saying "I don't have all the relevant skills required for the role, I don't have the experience to apply for the position. I think the job will be too hard and I think I might have to go back and restudy at university."
But what if you switched your perspective and really took some time out to fully understand the role, what was required, who is well suited to the position and do an audit.
Over the years you have gained so much experiences. You don't necessary have to have the exact requirements for the role if you can demonstrate and articulate that you will bring value to the company through the skills and experiences you have gained, you have a good chance of landing the role.
It's also about identifying what you want, planning when to make the move and not just jumping at the first role that is available, you need to be strategic, placing yourself in environments, communities and surrounding yourself with people who are on the same journey in order to attract and land opportunities.
