Ep. 013 w/ Corey Phillpot; World's Strongest Marathon Record Holder and extreme athlete.
Corey has an incredibly inspiring story which saw him getting caught up in the wrong crowd and subsequently hitting rock bottom. After reaching out to his Dad, Corey packed up everything he owned and left everything behind to relocate to the Blue Mountains. This is where his physical journey began, diving deep into endurance running and continually pushing the boundaries to see what he could achieve. His biggest accomplishment to date was his World's Strongest Marathon, pulling a 1.2tonne truck in a time of 16 hours and 12 minutes. This feat is mind-blowing and shows an incredible combination of both strength and endurance.
For Corey this obviously wasn't enough, he has now decided to take on an even tougher challenge. In November this year, Corey will be attempting The World's Strongest Ironman, completing a full Ironman Triathlon while carrying a 45kg tree... Yep, insane!
We are honoured to have such a legend on our podcast. Corey's ability to complete such a huge training volume, while balancing a full-time job and being a parent is inspiring and really shows you that if it is a priority, you will get it done.
