On today’s episode of JIMMY RANTS on The LLVLC Show Jimmy delves deep into a new study showing the heart health benefits of Ketosis.
“People mix up ketoacidosis with therapeutic ketone levels.”
- Jimmy Moore
In this episode Jimmy reads from a new study published in the December 15, 2020 issue of the World Journal of Diabetes entitled “Effects of ketogenic diet and ketone bodies on the cardiovascular system: Concentration matters” (https://www.wjgnet.com/1948-9358/full/v11/i12/584.htm)
The researchers from France and Poland sought to make the clear metabolic distinction between the cardiovascular impact of the dangerous elevations of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) that’s present in diabetic ketoacidosis as compared to healthy therapeutic levels of BHB produced through a low-carb ketogenic diet, supplementation, fasting, and exercise.
This is a very science-heavy study, but it is one that is sorely needed to shift the narrative away from negativity about eating keto somehow harming your heart health. Take this study to your doctor or anyone else who accuses you of somehow harming your health through nutritional ketosis. PASS IT ON!
