Derek King, the founder of True Force Roofing, found his way to Gainesville, Florida, from his hometown of Folkston, Georgia. His journey began when he met his wife during his active duty service, and they soon discovered they were expecting their first child, Indy. To be closer to family in Gainesville, Derek transitioned to the Florida Air National Guard.

With his uncle's roofing experience as inspiration, Derek dived headfirst into the roofing industry upon arriving in Gainesville. He co-founded True Force Roofing with a mission to prioritize customer service above all else.

Derek's "why" moment came early in life, driven by a passion for entrepreneurship and a desire to serve others. As a business owner, he sees joy in not only serving his community but also guiding his team to personal and professional growth.

Balancing work and personal life is a constant challenge for Derek, who views entrepreneurship as a lifestyle rather than just a career. He's grateful for the support of his loved ones as he navigates the demands of building a lasting brand.

Derek draws wisdom from a diverse set of mentors, and his unique journey in the roofing industry fuels his innovative spirit.

His guiding motto, "Love people," reminds his team to show grace and kindness in every interaction, recognizing the profound impact small acts of compassion can have on others. Derek views commerce as an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives and believes in uplifting both his team and the community to their highest potential.
