What are the effects of divorce on children?

Almost 50% of marriages end in divorce.  But what about the kids?  They move back and forth between homes and they might need to deal with new marriages, siblings and the sadness of never having both parents in their lives at once. Andrea Heyman remembers her young childhood as a really happy time but once her parents separated she had to learn to cope. Divorce has a lasting impact on kids and Andrea's story recounts some beautiful memories alongside feelings of abandonment and heartbreak.
