In this miniseries, I chat with journalist and author Jamiyla Chisholm about her recent publication "The Community" - a memoir about Jamiyla's time within the Nawaubian Nation of Moors, founded by charismatic leader Dwight York, also known as Malachi Z. In this series, Jamiyla discusses the Islamic faith and how York twisted peaceful teachings into something darker under the guise of Sufism, in order to gather a large following of Black American's. Jamiyla also discusses how key historical moments have changed how Muslim's and the Islamic faith is perceived worldwide.
