Are you different today from when you were in your 20s? Of course you are! Young people are concerned with settling down and starting a family. Whether marriage is involved in that scenario or not, raising children requires some sort of commitment between the parents.
Midlife people, on the other hand, most often are divorced, children are nearly grown, and they have more life experiences which may cloud their desires for commitment. While some midlife men might long to get remarried, some have no desire. Often those wants depend upon how amicable their divorce was. Even those who have been widowed might fear getting remarried as a betrayal of their deceased spouse.
