This week, I’m talking with trauma surgeon Qaali Hussein all about her medical career, and the challenges she’s faced at work and in life and she pursued her dream of being a mom and becoming a surgeon at the same time.

Qaali broke major barriers in her industry - being pregnant while training to become a surgeon is not widely accepted in the medical community, and her identity as a Muslim women subjected her to even greater scrutiny as she moved ahead and attempted to build a career while being true to who she is.

Through her journey, she built a core of unshakeable strength and confidence - and she shares this journey with us in today’s conversation.
